Why your class race combo?

What made you choose to play the combo you do?

There are 213 options and you found the one for you.
What made it special?

Was first told i could only accomplish X because I was a Horde and on a Horde heavy server. So race changed. Then told i was on a heaby pop server so i swapped servers

So swapped to alliance. Hadnt unlocked Kul Tiran or ZTrolls so my only options were Night Elf and Worgen and NEs looked better

The small group i often play with decided they were making Belfs: a Mage and a Priest, so I decided to be the heavy in the group. Those other toons have long since been recycled but my pally is still here

I came back from WoW after leaving for two years under difficult circumstances, and I wanted a fresh start.

But not too fresh.

So I kept my main Class, Warlock, but changed my Race, faction and body type.

From Mortis the Undead Warlock Wrestler, to Luxuria the Eredar Warlock Non-Wrestler.

I haven’t figured out yet what I’m gonna replace the whole Wrestling thing with lol

Currently playing a Paladin.

Gameplay first, I find all specs fun.

Class fantasy - I vibe with holy warriors, I find it harder to get into classes like rogue and warlock.

Flexibility - I can tank, heal, and dps.

Mog superiority - plate and 2h / polearms, as well as shield and 1h for variety on the other specs. Paladin tier sets always tend to be good as well

For race, I tend to pick a race that is better at customization and look good with most gear pieces. On Alliance for me, that is Drenaei or Nelf.

This rings a bell.

They were a very prominent demon hunter fan.
Very pushy on asking for buffs and more time in the spotlight though

This but the exact opposite lol

To be fair, I have a lot of combos.

I have 50 characters on my main server (not this one).

I picked this combo back when it was new though and I don’t regret it.

Mogs look good, I like the animations and though it’s not game-breaking, the extra heal button has saved me a few times. The JC bonus doesn’t hurt either.

This character was created in 2007, when the only other alliance paladin options were dwarf and draenei, and neither of those interested me.

Blood Elf was the only race available for Horde paladins when I made this character. :upside_down_face:

I really liked the thought of a Vulpera tomb raider out there on her hyena out on the sandy dunes, scavenging for treasures of old, slinking through forgotten catacombs, dodging traps and picking locks. Outlaw Rogue was the obvious choice! :dracthyr_heart:

i made this hunter when i was 9 years old

originally blood elf because blood elf pretty

then all my friends went ally before cross faction was a thing, so i went night elf
year of the spear came around and i 1. couldnt stand nelf melee animations and 2. the /roar sound they make when you press CA/BW drove me nuts

used savory deviate delights a lot
so i went human because their animations and /roar were more appealing to me
i also just find them cute

To add mine.

Ive loved void elves since the moment they were revealed.
I already played a blood elf, but these were the same race with added me.
Mental health issues with a spice of emo on top.

I had loved monk since i first got a real look at them when legion added their class mount. (I joined in wod).
Their mount was the coolest thing ever.
And a whole spec around booze? Heck yeah.
But it was melee so i ignored it.
Turns out i shouldnt have because its amazing fun.

Put the 2 together and you have someone suffering from whispers of the void who takes up the way of the monk to overcome it.
It writes itself honestly.

WC3 Tauren units. Used to mass tons of them and swarm enemy bases.

I’ve been playing MMOs as my genre of choice since Everquest.

I’ve spent the past 20 years, throughout several games being told that people who look like me do not belong in these fantasy settings and are out of place and that playing a character that looks like me breaks the lore of whatever game I happened to be playing at the time, and watching people complain about brown-skinned characters existing. So I spent all that time playing Orcs, Lizardmen, all sorts of blue, red, and green Aliens and other kinds of Beast/Monster Races as stand-ins/substitutes because I did not want people complaining about me.

Somewhere along the line within the past few years, I got fed up with being told this, and I determined that from then on that I would always play a brown-skinned human or human-adjacent character and anyone who had a problem with it could kick rocks. I made a concerted effort in the games I played to remove all of my “other”-race characters and remake them as brown-skinned humanoids.

Which means when I came back to WoW, my choices were Human, Kul Tiran, Void Elf, Gnome, Dwarf, Blood Elf, Worgen(Brown-skinned Human form), Dracthyr (Brown-skinned Visage).

I don’t like playing short races, so no Dwarf or Gnome.

I do have a Dracthyr.

Humans look weird in this game, to me. it’s their proportions. big popeye forearms, weird shaped heads(make one that’s bald and you’ll see what I mean). and I dislike almost all of their combat animations.

Kul Tirans are ugly, and I’ve never been able to make one that I like. It’s not the fact that they are fat, I can deal with that. I’m a hefty dude, so I don’t even mind. It’s their male faces, they are all ugly to me, and their comical mustaches and beards customizations don’t help. I would absolutely play a Kul Tiran if I could make one that I actually liked looking at.

Void Elves are just Blood Elves with extras. If I were an Alliance player, that would be my race.

I decided that overall I liked the Horde vibe and lore more than the Alliance one anyway, so Blood Elf it was.

If Nightborne had brown skin tones, at least one of my characters would be one.

and no, I’m not going to go back and forth with anyone about this. OP asked a question, this is my answer, that’s that. Being able to play a brown-skinned humanoid (read: not beast race, orc, troll, or any kind of “other”) is important to me. and at this point I do not care if nobody understands it or if literally everyone who plays this game disagrees.

I’m sorry if that came off rude, but I’d just like to try and cut that conversation short before it happens.

Lissen if Mace Windu can have a purple lightsaber just because Samuel L. Jackson said “I want a purple lightsaber, George!” Then you are fully entitled to your brown-skinned humanoid! :dracthyr_love_animated:

Im honestly really sorry that that has been your experience.
You are of course worth way more than playing a monster race and i really do hope those comments were a product of their time and not still held today.
