Why you want Tencent removed from this gaming company

The current administration has made moves to weaken the influence of tencent in American gaming. There is a really good reason why you WANT this.

Tencent has a 5% stake in Activision-Blizzard. At a 5% ownership stake, they are legally able to access any documents at Activision-Blizzard. Which means they have access to all your personal info, including billing information.

And since Tencent is heavily tied to the Chinese Communist Party, that means, in effect, the Chinese Communist Party has direct access to all your information, legally.

I think we need to go further and buy out all of Tencent shares in blizz and remove them from our gaming company.

Privacy basically doesn’t exist anymore on the internet. I don’t know how this is a surprise.

Of course not, but if we remove tencent from blizz, the Chinese Communist Party no longer has a peep hole into your life.

Billing information? My address? What, are the Chinese going to send a hit squad out to get me?

If you think that this is the only way they have information about you I don’t know what to tell ya.

they’ll order pizza to your house.
And you won’t be able to fight it because your card ordered it for you. You’ll have to eat the cost. And the pizza.

Crafty Chinese government

No, but the CCP will be able to bill you directly for whatever they want. You want to fund Communism with your bank account?

It’s deliciously diabolical!

So…maybe we should take steps to…regain it?

Blizzard doesn’t even have access to that information lol.

I’m not sure how you understand how all that works.

Uh…no…that isn’t how that works bud.

Unless you’re using one of those pre purchased blizz time cards to play WoW, they have access to your billing info.

Yeah, my address. That’s literally it lol.

Address and what ever card you’re using to pay the $15 monthly.

No, just the address. Like I said, I’m not sure you understand how all that works.

Your faith in them not having your card is the same as believing when they say they dont have access to your password, if that were the case, how do they get your account back when its hacked?

I mean I understand how credit transactions actually take place so that helps lol.

posting in some argorosh thread.

several people here embrace the tencent spirit by playing other of their many games regardless… but sure fight the powah imrite

I mean if you really want to target Tencent, you should be talking to Epic.

I assume you’re talking about chipped credit cards, where the chip encrypts your info and the merchant doesn’t get your info, just your payment. That dont work on online transactions, you literally punched your card number and security code into blizz website.
