It is our responsibility as gamers to acknowledge that we have a toxic attitude towards women, as my fav streamer points out in the video below, we are all nerds and geeks, so the women that play are also likely to be ‘nerds and geeks’, I know they say opposites sometimes attract, but reality is you are more likely to have a positive relationship with someone that has more in common with you then not, I know they say opposites attract,
The point is whatever your opinion on the current lawsuit, the fact is there’s been one too many stories of sexist attitudes towards women, we as a community either way need to do much better, and we really to be more mindful of the things we say and do and what effect they have on the people around us,
Anyway the point is if you be nicer to girls around you in gaming and elsewhere they will stick around and that will be better for everyone, anyway I am no radical feminist, though I do reject notions like ‘nice guys finish last’ and ‘treat em mean to keep them keen’…the point is, we need to do more to make women feel safe and comfortable, as you can only keep treating girls like dirt for so long and they will eventually get sick of it.
If you treat women like dirt in game you risk making women feel unsafe. Or worse, you could get in trouble with the law one day.
Your assumption of course being that so few women are actually reading this that they need not be taken into consideration, and you can use “we” to mean “since we’re all men”.

Here is the thing. I do believe in equality but I also believe that people on BOTH sides need to earn their respect, rewards, ranks, and whatever else. Yes in some aspects treating women better would be great but the other side of that coin is the women who do abuse it need to stop treating men like crap as well. So overall respect goes both ways and is earned both ways. Women or men dont deserve it automatically. If we want equality then we should not just automatically do something because of a gender but on their merits and actions.
You are not a advocate for the gaming community stop acting like it, and parroting the words of a streamer just makes you seem to be a virtue signaling sycophant. Judge individuals on their behavior and stop trying to lump everyone into a group.
I get that once someone sees something despairing it is easier to make a facebook status /insta/ Ticktok saying “I am against whatever is abhorrent in the news” or to make posts on forums and that makes you feel like you are contributing to a solution with little to no effort.
In MY personal experience most guys that I have encountered aren’t trying to be necessarily sexist or mean spirited but they are so awkward they end up saying stuff they see the " cool" guys say without realizing those guys arent cool they are D**** and once they realize they hurt your feelings they go into a tizzy apologizing all over themselves. Most guys aren’t jerks but these guys in the Blizzard case knowingly recruited and attracted jerks into their inner circle and enjoyed being as******* and their bosses played the 3 monkey routine.
You act like women have some type of higher moral standards than men. Truth is men and women are the same when it comes to being in the majority both can be crude.
When I was just out of highschool I was in a factory where the women outnumbered the men about 15 to 1 and trust me I had to put up with a lot of sexual innuendos and far worse than words.
Like I said women are no different than men when they are in greater numbers.
This thread is defended by men who never interact with women. Women can be the biggest btches merely because they had a bad day, or something you keep doing pisses them off so they explode on you with a torrent of words instead of talking about it.
I was in a shopping mall this one time, and this chick wants to stop in front of everyone and start some big drama. I’m like yeah yeah whatever and she would never stop, so I’m like okay lets do this lets do big drama here, and I saw a guy shaking like he was scared of her yelling, really got me thinking wtf this world is upside down. He even looked like a humble gamer.
I’m picturing this guy is the same one who goes home and white knights for women, acting all tough and picking fights with me online about how to treat women, what a time to be alive.
Sorry to inform you, but not everyone has a “toxic attitude” like yourself. Feel free to acknowledge your own shortcomings, but don’t assume that everyone else stoops to your level. Raising awareness is fine, but excessive virtue-signaling is often a sign that you’re overcompensating for a guilty conscience.
Here’s some advice which should be common sense:
Treat everyone as you wish to be treated.
Not sure why people have such trouble treating others with basic decency regardless of their immutable characteristics.
I think you are trying to just pull out of that what you want to try to use to shout something. You forgot the parts of equality goes both ways. If we want to get into groping and assaulting then yes women should not be allowed to be groped or assault but on a smaller scale men shouldn’t be used to get work done, or to try and get their way. Now note before you go off the walls its not the same level but it still happens. You are more than welcome to try and copy and paste parts of that to fill your own view and try to have something to “say”
In a game I don’t care who you are. I only care about that you’re a decent person. That’s it. The same pretty much apply to real life. I treat people the way I’d like to be treated. I mean, it’s really that simple.
