Why you making wotlk so unfriendly to alts

Pretty sure no one said it was hard

Alright, fair. That doesnt change the fact that leveling is a relatively small time sink.

It is a nice boost of course.
But in the grand scheme of things it really is overrated. Anybody who will take the time to level from 1 to 70 will do it regardless of an xp boost or not. This xp boost is not going to be (and nor should it be) a deciding factor to make people create a new alt and level it.

make some friends and level up in dungeons. you don’t need to commodify everything and sell it

That’s really an issue with modern gamers. They just want so much without putting in any real effort. I’m not sure if they are so pressed IRL that they need games to be super easy or what.

They also seem to hate anything locked behind a wall they don’t value, even when other people do value that wall (leveling for example). I wonder how many of them have read books in the last year because they deem it too much of a time sink.

Making friends is incredibly easy. You just have to not be a tool.

Its hard not to be sometimes in this game lol

Wow, if people like this is the community Blizzard wants to retain, there’s really no reason to do so.

Yep, everyone who struggles to make friends must be a tool.

DK 55 / 58 boost / 70 boost + 30% XP nerf + 50% XP buff + Heirlooms

But, yeah, “iT’S s0 unFriEnDly”

All these responses tell me that everyone here is a casual. While that’s not a bad thing perhaps you shouldn’t just exclusively rely on catch up mechanisms all the time.

The difficulty of heroic s scaling is a good thing. Maybe without gear you’ll have to CC a bit. Sorry this inconveniences you. Perhaps that should motivate you to keep up to speed.

You want easier raids so the community gets bored?

This post sounds like you don’t really wanna play this game like you think you do, I’m sorry.

I largely agree with your point of view.

Blizzard is underestimating how important boosting has been through this point in keeping the game active and alive. Players can reject this reality all they want but the game would be very dead right now without player boosting in the game.

Yep. Also how they said they wanted 5 man heroics to be easily accesable to everyone and meaningful all the way through the expansion. Then they remove the lfd tool that made it possible for every player to easily access the dungeons.

The devs in the original wotlk actually did want want this team is claimimg. They would add incentives to tanks and healers just to make sure all players could access the dumgeons. If a player wanted to run a heroic like occulus that was very unpopular, they added additional rewards to get more players to run it. They did everything they could to get ppl to be able to play the damn game. These morons in charge now are out of touch.

If boosts must be in the game. I would rather Blizzard provide them than players. Boosting absolutely destroys fantasy immersion, LFG chat and low level dungeons. I think all boosting is bad, but I think player provided boosts are the worst possible boosts.

Apparently the entire population of this game wants to do dungeons to level but somehow can never find each other when playing in game to do a dungeon.

There is a lot of back and forth in this thread on RDF and the level 70 boost, but isn’t the point more about how things will change at 80 wrt the heroic changes?

I think the issue some people are seeing is that you best have all of your alts 80 and all done with the first phase before the next phase hits, as new 80s in blues wont be welcome in those heroics as people want to complete the new challenges.

This also really sheds light on the hard line stance against RDF from the development team, as with these new challenges they need to let players be selective on who they bring.

Wrath already had a bit of progressive heroics at least from the 5 man TOC tier and then the heroics from ICC tier. I am assuming those wont have added challenges and that will just apply to launch dungeon heroics (?)

It is though. Most people in the game are pretty chill, you won’t make “real” friends but populating a friend list with enough acquaintances to run stuff is pretty easy.

Because right now its a clownfest. Heroics are so easy you can jump in with your hellfire greens straight out from being boosted through SP / SL and still clear for easy badges. If you’re talking about alts, then the main just needs to not be an antisocial jerk to get people to carry their undergeared alt for a while until they’re geared. Also, questing / rep / crafted stuff goes a long way. Im sure it’ll vary by class and some specs will have it harder than others, but its by no means impossible.

New players (as in, didnt play wrath the first time around) will likely have a harder time. So yeah no RDF does suck and its a stupid decision. But its also made worse by there being no point to guilds existing anymore, thanks to GDKPs.
