Why you have to group for myth track gear

I don’t think many of the players asking to solo their way to myth track gear understand the nature of the game. To be clear, I don’t and probably never will have myth track gear this season.

Solo players are fickle. They come and go on a whim and rarely stick around for long periods of time. And please don’t post saying you’ve been playing for X years only solo. You’re the exception that proves the rule.

Blizzard has to incentivize group play in order to put players in situations where they can create the kind of relationships that keep them logging in long after the content dries up. It might not work all the time, but it’s something they have to incentivize. This is an MMO, even if some of you treat it like a solo game.

Additionally, mythic raiding and high keys require a level of coordination not seen in solo play. There is simply no logical reason for delves to give the same level of gear. Effort equals reward.

You may not want to participate because you consider raiding and M+ toxic, and that’s fair. And that’s also why you can get within 10 ilvls of players that are doing them.

If you are demanding the same ilvl from delves or other solo content, you fundamentally do not understand MMO’s and gearing systems. You just want what you can’t have. It’s a common human trait, but it’s important to understand it’s a problem with you, not the game.

As I tell my kids - you get what you get, don’t throw a fit.

If you’re going to tell people not to contradict you, you should probably prove your rule first.

Since when? They’re usually the ones that are roleplaying, doing open world and not just playing this as a lobby game.

I haven’t seen an actual serious thread demanding this. I saw one troll thread. And everyone else saying the rewards as is are fine.

OP have you ever actually tried to recruit for a raiding guild before?

You can want to Mythic raid with all your heart and soul and body and mind and still not be able to, I think that’s the main thing people are glossing over recklessly.

Congratulations, or, sorry that happened.

Why not?

As someone who does recruit for mythic raiding, the mythic recruitment and roster upkeep boss is one of the hardest bosses Blizzard ever designed. Not to mention the most persistent. There have been many a night we’ve had to cancel a progression night because we were a couple people short of 20.

I would LOVE 15-man mythic raids. 20-man is just too much for the majority of guilds, especially the casual ones (and yes, casual mythic guilds are a thing).

I’ve been playing since cata, solo /rasp

because nothing you do solo is equivilent to mythic raiding or +10 and up m+

Seems like a lot of assumptions being made here with nothing backing it up.

Why does all the end game stuff have to require you doing overbloated raid mechanics, or interact with a toxic system like Mythic+?

Have you considered that the reason solo players are “Fickle” as you call them, is because there genuinely is no reason for them to stick around, because character progression is grinded to a halt to the demand of the Raiders/Mythic+ crowd that don’t want anyone stepping on their toes? Or god forbid not enjoy playing the game the same way they do?

Everytime something nice comes around that benefits the people who don’t want to specifically raid or Mythic+, those two crowds lose their minds, claiming that the content isn’t “hard enough” to justify the rewards, and that people that don’t want to play the game the way THEY want to play the game, “Don’t deserve” to have anything nice.

Delves are a step in the right direction. You can solo them, you can group with them, they are fun, and don’t have overbloated mechanics like Raids do these days that mods are REQUIRED to function in them, and they don’t have toxic communities you have to interact with like Mythic+ nor obnoxious unneeded timers.

Further Delves have a significantly higher bar for personal reponsibility in them, if you mess up a delve. That’s on you, no one else messed up for you to point fingers at, and Delves scaling goes above 619 item level (Reccomended for T10 Delves is 623, which you cannot obtain doing just delves, nor is that the highest level delve teir)

If anything, higher level teir delves need to award even better awards. People doing Delves shouldn’t be required to go into Raiding or Mythic+ to just continue doing higher teir delves.

Isnt’ that the logic the Raiders and Mythic+ crowd have when it comes to delves? They shouldn’t be “Required” to go do delves to get gear for their preferred playground. Funny now that only seems to work one way.

If m+ players want m+ to survive they are going to have to change the way they treat other players.

Simple as that.

Don’t change and m+ will just be forgotten.

I really don’t care if you guys change your ways or not.

I’ve never played m+ nor do I ever plan on it.

It’s up to you guys to save the content you like from falling into obscurity.

Bribing other players with mythic track gear doesn’t even seem to be enough rn from what I’ve been reading on the forums.

You really want me to list every reason? You really can’t think of anything?

Yeah GG, whack thread. Being soft trolled.

Same, I’m a recruiting officer. It’s hard enough just to get people for Normal/Heroic raid. I can recruit 5 people and 1 will actually show up to the raid, the rest I will just never see ever again. It’s really bizarre. These aren’t mass invited people either, I had dialogue with them before they joined to check if they could even raid when we do.

Also you have the fact that not everyone in the guild is even trying to recruit. You might have a GM asleep at the wheel too. There are so many more factors at play, people talking about forming groups for everything makes chuckle. Just like how someone saying, “just make friends bro” in Path of Exile or League of Legends would be equally absurd.

The only incentive to “make friends” in WoW is to be carried and people know this, they’re not stupid, especially if you’re lower in ilvl and IO than the tank you’re trying to “befriend”. It’s laughable.

lol. Yes, I’m asking you to explain your point. That’s how conversations work.

As a solo player, you may not have a lot of experience with that.

Why do I need to explain to you why someone wouldn’t be able to Mythic raid? This is just laughable and then you patronize me. Having a bad a day I guess.

Already ignored, don’t bother responding. Oops too late.

Because the reason why will say a lot about whether it’s an issue with you or the game.

If you’re a good player and can prove it with logs, I see no reason you can’t get into a mythic guild unless you’re a tank.

And ignored? lmao. Of course someone wanting to have everything without putting in the effort would be soft.

One model of gear progression is higher difficulty == higher levels of gear. But you could also just have a model where higher difficulty == faster rates of gearing + cosmetic rewards. Less difficulty == slower rates of gearing and limited cosmetic rewards. Or you could have a model where all routes are equal and they are tuned so it takes roughly the same amount of time to gear up regardless of which route you use. And there are other ways to do this of course. We seem to be in a hybrid model at the moment. PVP has its own route, solo players have unique rewards and can get fairly high gear but not the best, and mythic raids and M8+ give the best rewards plus unique cosmetic rewards.

None of these approaches is more correct than another, they are just different ways to manage player progression. My personal view is that all players should have access to the same gear progression, but higher difficulty content should be quicker and offer unique cosmetic rewards (mogs, titles, mounts, etc.). But others may prefer a different model, and that’s fine. I will argue for my favorite route, and you can argue for yours

I think if you looked at numbers, you’d find solo players more likely to be loyal subscribers and raid loggers who get their gear, log off, unsub until the next season.
