Why would you not want to pi?
Guilds that can one-shot every boss in MC while wearing level 50 greens and BOP items from BRD do not need to grind world buffs and flasks to clear the content. Those guilds deliberately choose to make additional work for their raiders, so they can one-shot every boss in MC with the fastest clear times or the highest damage (whatever their goal is).
So whatever point you think you’re making isn’t supported by your own choice of words. Guilds that grind world buffs and flasks – when they do not need to do so to clear the content - are not at all pursuing the ‘path of least resistance’.
It’s a lot of bonus healing, and if your raid has more healing than it needs, why not run less healers rather than run less powerful healers to temporarily boost a few ranged DPS?

Are you suffering from anxiety? because what you suggest won’t happen, only sweaties does that and no content in Vanilla requires you to be that way. There’s no such things even in versions of classic where there’s dual spec already.

Will it happen to any degree noticeable to the people outside of the most tryhard, sweaty guilds? Incredibly doubtful.

It depends on what I find fun. I understand lots of people’s idea of fun is min maxing and doing everything they can to max their character, so if that’s what you enjoy go ahead. The impression I get though is that the ones making posts complaining about this and that don’t enjoy crazy min maxing, otherwise you’d just do it. So if you don’t enjoy it why do it? You’re not getting paid to do well in the game and there is so much leeway in terms of what you need to do to down bosses so people should do what they find fun and nothing more.
