Why would new account trade ban matter for a fresh realm?

I just made a new account after years away to play on classic fresh. I saw that there is the 26 day trade/AH ban for new accounts on the website, but that says only for SOD realms.

Well turns out it’s also applying to classic era realms…

My question is would this be necessary for classic fresh realms since they’re brand new economies?

It feels pretty ridiculous that I may not be able to socially interact in an MMO for almost a full month from launch.

Could anyone explain how this would be necessary for a fresh realm?

I believe the restriction applied to the fresh server too. but I hope its not.

This is a really bad idea. If blizz wants to combat RMT they need to do it with a system that isn’t punishing legitimate players. Trading is a huge part of this game.

I even verified my email and added the authenticator and that still doesn’t change anything. I will be playing with IRL friends and this completely destroys our plan to pool resources and craft/enchant/support each other along our journey!

Did blizz come out and say it would apply to fresh realms? I still cant understand why it would even matter on a fresh realm

Imagine, when you want to return to playing after several years away, only to find yourself unable to interact with the economy system that should be helping you play. But there’s still time for Blizzard to change it before this fresh server is released.

Why make a new account? Why not just use your old one?

To run on a bot on your 2nd PC behind a VPN. I wish I was joking.

People actually do this, then make bad faith threads asking for the restrictions to be removed to make it easier for them to bot without getting caught.
