People who legitimately don’t know why people want to play classic must have never picked up an old game of theirs and play through it despite knowing every nook and cranny of the game due to previous experience. The only relevant question is how long the nostalgia will last.
Because it was a real MMORPG that’s why. Retail WoW is some bastardized game with no identity. It’s a MMO-FPS single player hybrid game with micro-transactions and loot boxes in a cheap attempt to appeal to your sense of accomplishment. You woke up today have a loot box. You put your pants on have a loot box. You completed this 5-minute quest have a legendary.

OP it is for nostalgia’s sake but hey I guess maybe you are not old enough or smart enough to understand what that means. Also many people did not play it so they get a shot at it and then also many that did play it did not get all they wanted from it. Eh anyway OP why did you bother with a post like this? Oh I get it. Enjoy facerolling your keyboard for participation epics and train sets and snowballs on all your non-pvp servers because players like you couldn’t handle the stress of character death.
Classic isn’t for you, retail is. Continue playing it, have fun although you stated already “fun” isn’t an objective for you, so continue existing I guess.

No. I just wanted to try Classic. I joined a year ago on Modern and while I’m happy over there, I wanted to see the game as it once was. Yeah, it’s a recreation and not a jump back in time but still…

I seriously do not understand why what people choose to play or not play is anyone’s business but there own. No one owes you an explanation about anything. What does it matter to you or anyone for that matter?

Intead of playing whatever retail it is, even when I bought each expansion and keep my account always subscribed “just in case”
