Why were WPvP Quests removed in BfA?

The only world quests I actually bothered doing in Legion were the PvP ones and the Pet battle ones.

But BfA offers no rewards for WPvP other then being the Alliance, and no quests at all.

I have fond memories of the free for all arenas in Legion. Tons of people hung out in those arenas just fighting even when you finished the quest people kept brawling because it was fun. No faction restriction, just a good old brawl.

Why doesnt BfA offer anything similar to this? No WPvP quests or a free for all zone like Dalaran Sewers.

I had small hopes 8.3 would offer sonething similar to timeless isle but since its gonna recycle old zones there isnt going to be any real hangout spots.

These have always been the places I make friends and be social with everyone and I really miss that.

Yeah and thats a problem, Warmode doesnt bring anything to the table. A 10% bonus on rewards is a weird reward for just having it on and doesnt bring any pvp rewards or pushes people to engage in wpvp.

Its just a reward to be a bit quicker on doing PvE content. Because warmode doesnt give any incentive to do actual engaging pvp content that people want to participate in, like actual quests you can do for some gold or tokens or whatever word quests offer these days.

And in WPvP the content offered should be free for all to eliminate Horde just zerging Alliance.

BfA has warmode with

  • Faction Assault WQs in warmode that reward conquest and secret supply chests
  • Battle of Nazjatar every 3 hours-ish
  • Call To Arms weekly quests
  • Supply drops every 20-30 minutes in each zone

I liked warmode far more than the legion pvp wqs (the tower wqs barely qualified as pvp since each faction was sent to different towers)

People just do the quest quickly and be on their way, sure you can gank people doing quests but Im not about that.

Horde vs other Horde trying to get that one kill on an Alliance person to opt in for rewards. (though I think they changed that, but I havent played it in ages cause its just a Horde win).

I run around a dead zone hoping to find some guy with no flying leveling or doing wquests so I can gank them.

Having to look for chests is quite boring and I never see anyone loot these anymore nowadays.

I see no fun in warmode what so ever its always one side obliterating the other due to unbalanced servers or its just a ghost town. But I agree that the towers were boring unless you had the toy to kill your own faction to get rep with that vendor.

But the Beach with naga was great pvping with everyone, the hill with the mounts was hilarious, the cave was a lot of fun and the arena was just the best thing ever.

I really miss those.

Because warmode.

I agree with you totally and support this topic.

I think Ion said something to the tune of “We think that Warmode makes all world quests into pvp quests so the whole world is your arena”.

But I agree with you. I love world pvp in general but world pvp arenas took the one sidedness of world pvp away a bit because it made everything a free for all which was fun. It also gave loads of honor.

I thought Atal’Dazzar would have been a good area to put an arena quest down.

Holy smokes Juuhachigou I just remembered those 8.0 Pre Patch days on the beach. They were great. Then we lost that end game pvp zone.

Yeah, I remember him saying that the issue is the massive size of an arena like that and no real objective, And even with no objective people need a bit of a handholding deciding on a place to combat at because Azeroth is massive and a brawl zone shouldnt be bigger then the square infront of Orgrimmars AH to have people regularly dropping by to check in.

Blizz gives and Blizz takes. :weary:

Well I understand why they removed the “FFA” PvP ones as they should have never really been on PvE servers to begin with. Adding them to PvP shards wouldn’t be a big deal, as it would mostly be the dominate faction on that shard killing one another.

Until they can figure out a way to better balance shards faction wise, they shouldn’t focus too much upon PvP quests that likely will not be able to be completed.

But thats why the FFA were so much fun you got to fight anyone or just kill npcs. I really like the concept of everyone being red. And the participation was pretty good also having a spirit healer right outside helps participation a lot.

No, that just made them easy to zerg.

I used to love the PvP world quests. It was a great way for PvE players to get Honor and MoH, while dabbling a little bit into wPvP without having to be shoved into a PvP server environment. It was awesome.
