Why were dark iron dwarves made an allied race when they were already playable?

Go to make a dwarf character. Go to skin, pick the grey/black ones with red eyes. Those are dark irons. Technically all dwarf warlocks are dark irons.

This is like making highborne an allied race, which are already playable under night elves. All ne mages are highborne, and all nes with the tan/orange skin are highborne.

I honestly figure that blizzard forgot they were already in the game.

There is quite a bit of difference between regular Dwarves and Dark Irons. They most definitely were not already in the game.

Perhaps you hit your head really hard on something. I hope you feel better soon.

But these are DARK IRON Dark irons.

You may as well ask why do Lightforged Draenai, which look exactly like Draenai.

I think they looked at long time desires/suggestions. Dark Iron Dwarves was one of the EARLIEST “cosmetic” suggestions, I remember it from Vanilla (possibly even the beta of Vanilla.)

People also suggested getting “lightforged” cosmetic stuff, when they saw them.

I agree, both are kind of a race. I did unlock them for the mounts, though.

The Orcs, Trolls and Taurens were also a waste. I’m amazed that people complain so much about “Kul’Tiran”, at least it is a NEW look.

Nightborne, Void Elves and especially Kul’Tiran, are the only ones that look remotely “new.”

lightforged are a new race, but dark irons WERE ALREADY PLAYABLE.

They officially joined the normal dwarves in cata, and there are extra skins and classes for dwarves to show that.

correct me if wrong. but I though iron dwarf were hot in inside. like lave hot. or am I wrong.

Actually, he has a point. Highborne shared a massively different culture than the Night Elves themselves, yet they were rolled into one race alongside the Kaldorei during Cataclysm because they shared the same model.

All Night Elf mages are Highborne.

Not all Highborne are Night Elves though.

There are some darker skins for Dwarves but they aren’t as dark and fire-ridden as the Dark Iron Dwarves themselves.

Those are the dark irons, as all the dwarf warlocks are dark iron and all dwarf shamen are wildhammer. There were skins added, the ash skins with red eyes were the already playable dark irons.

Lightforged Dreanei are pathetic and sad and have made me want to call Blizzard lazy every chance I get until they get a revamp.

I mean, I was agreeing with you.

Say what you will, Dark Irons armour set looks cool as hell and I love their racials. Most Allied Races are kinda lazy reskins but I don’t care when they’re cool.

Also Lightforged draenei waifus are gifts.

Typical GD logic:
Doubling down on stupidly absurd claims will make them true.

I mean, technically the OP isn’t wrong.

In Cataclysm, Dwarf Warlocks were added because the Dark Irons joined the Alliance. Likewise, Shaman were added because Wildhammers joined the Alliance.

Lorewise, all Dwarf Warlocks were Dark Irons and all Dwarf Shaman were Wildhammer.

So technically all Dwarf Warlocks already were Dark Iron.

But no, Dwarfs are not the same as Dark Iron.

No. They were not.

Why are there dark iron skins for dwarves since 2010?

Fun fact. The kul tiran skeletons are not new. they’ve been in wows files since the burning crusade at least. if you look around on the internet youll find out that those were intended to be the ORIGINAL human models in alpha.

If you want ingame proof go to the caverns of time Escape from durnholde dungeon and go down to the town. youll find the larger males and females with old textures.
As well as dozens of npc easter egg rp events littered about,

This is back when humans had more than one model, and even unique models for random npcs.

Remember how there were defias rogues/mages with what would end up becoming the blood elf bodies?

Hes right tho, aren’t dark iron dwarves just the guys who didn’t side with the wildhammer or bronze and went to forge fire stuff? pretty close to dwarves… of course they join the ally after ragnaros died. either that or die.

The original deadmines models are different than the new skinny kul tiran dudes.
and no, it wasn’t blood elf either, they looked like weird humans.

those skins were only available after cata and before the model rework. With the model rework the red eyed face was removed and the black skins removed. The darkest skin you can choose is just a pale skin covered in soot.

I thought they shared a skeleton with the withered and wretched.
