I was also very confused about calling it “sod.” I was thinking, “Does it mean ‘Save or Die,’ and it’s going to be hardcore with a ton of one-shot mechanics? Or is it going to be WoW where all the zones are replaced with golf courses, football fields, and other places people lay turf?”

Sod Is way easier to say than that Probably the biggest reason I would say.
Cause SOAD was taken. Some sort of Metal band with a tone deaf singer.
we calling it Sod because if we dont keep watering it for the first few weeks after its been laid out it will die
