Blizzard doesn’t do world first race. That’s a player organized event though.
Oh really? Funny, you could’ve fooled me based on their dedication of resources to the event, as well as

Wait are you serious? A game company who knows of a massive event where thousands of people will tune in to watch their game being played is aware of the top 16 teams??? Oh my oh my. It’s like they can track what guilds kill bosses. Or even like they make one short blog post to keep people hyped because player involvement equals more money.
My point was that blizzard does not organize or run the WF race. And they do not. But yes they are aware of it. And yes they are aware they can use it to generate hype for their new tiers.
You’re seriously bringing up a post that took MAYBE 5 minutes to write.
Right? If that’s a dedication of resources I need a big raise at my job. I work like 40 hours!
Let people like what they like.
Plus, it’s marketing, it’s all marketing.
Some people might see the race, think “oh, that raid looks cool, maybe I will play SL” and suddenly blizzard makes money.
People actually care about “world firsts”? Huh.
Echo isn’t that far behind Limit tbh. And all those people Method lost? Well those same people formed Echo. So it’s still Limit vs Method…
I don’t understand why people care about world firsts either, but it’s not because of competition. I have never found WoW pve content to be all that compelling to watch or cheer for. I mean… if you got a bunch of teams to see who could fill out an elaborate spreadsheet the fastest I’m sure you could find some stiff competition… but would anyone care?
edit: My point is not to disparage the players, my point is that raiding is about efficiency. What the heck is exciting about efficiency?
I didn’t care when Method were viable. Spectating isn’t why I got into video games.
Why did people even start watching it or even care about it to begin with?
Method?
Stopped reading right there, already shows your level of commitment to understanding the event/situation before commenting on it. Inb4 talking about sco running w/e shambled thing he has now.
FFS…don’t give her any ideas.
First RWF? Method didn’t have a lot of competition after EN until Limit and Pieces showed up in BFA. Also, most of Method is now raiding as Echo, and Echo’s doing pretty well, same as Pieces and BDG.
Watching not so much, but listening is pretty good. For people wanting to run later bosses (with a plan to try mythic) it helps a bit to experience the thought process relating to how they downed mythic. That way you can understand how things are supposed to work. And for others you can at least take the mythic strat and strip out mechanics to get a streamlined heroic strat for your own groups.
Too much work for a video game.
Echo is a majority of Methods raid team that left from the drama and made a new guild.
Put in a bit of work and you can cut wasted time in the game to play it more.
To be fair the last race wasn’t very close either. Limit had Nzoth down to about 30% I think before Method even started. Which amounted to I think 50-60 more pulls.
