I’m really curious, why wasn’t monk included in the new classes for Dracthyr? Is it something about wings and somersaults? Isn’t every race other than them able to be a monk?
I dunno.
People don’t think there needs to be a reason to open up a class choice for a race.
So does there need to be a reason not to?
The dragons don’t have fists
I assume it’s mostly animations and Blizzard be lazy. At least playing around with toys dracthyr lack a lot of animations that I am sure they are shoveling onto the visage form to make up for.
This is probably closest to the truth. We know at this point that ‘lore reasons’ don’t even factor in for these things, so it probably boiled down to them needing the interns to do other things.
I’m more annoyed at no Dracthyr Shaman or Druids given their ties to both.
Cant roll properly on the ground with wings, and dragons dont get drunk enough to BE a brewmaster
I dunno. Maybe it’s that Monks have mobility skills that they think the Dracthyr don’t need? I dunno, barely played a Dracthyr.
They aren’t allowed in our training grounds.
Aren’t Monks, like Death Knights and Demon Hunters still considered “Hero Classes”, which excludes them from almost all these changes most of the time?
DK and DH are Hero classes. Monks are a regular and never had them restrictions. You could make as many as you wanted.
this makes monks cooler in my book. W monks
Except that monks as a concept were invented by the Pandaren during their enslavement by the mogu - long after the dracthyr were imprisoned away.
It’s perfectly lore valid for them to not have monks.
Like the Paladins that also didn’t exist, which is why it’s perfectly lore valid for them to have Priests and Warriors, but not… priest warriors.
Also, whether something is “perfectly lore valid” doesn’t mean said lore was a consideration, so I don’t even know what you felt you were proving here, other than reaching for 30k.
I mean they’ve specifically said that lore is a consideration. But I guess you know better, 64 post forum alt?
Honestly, being talked down to for not spending the bulk of my life here on the forums might be the best compliment someone can be paid.
Also, lightforged warlocks, undead that also don’t have paladins despite having priests and warriors… and on and on. But sure, you can go with what they “said,” and I’ll just stick to what they’re actually done.
For real. You’re telling me I can pull magic from the dream to heal but I can’t be a Druid? Make it make sense. Dracthyr are imbued with green dragon essence their connection to the dream is right there for all to see
Tbh they gave the reason in the announcement post as to why they should. They weren’t clear as to why they picked the classes they did unfortunately.
Because they were genetically engineered and have the powers of all the flights + the adaptability of humanoids. Safe to assume they could feasibly become ALL the classes. (But clearly that would be too op lol)
Consistency is not a secondary stat that Blizz has focused on. That’s for sure.
Yeah, I can’t imagine them being DKs, that would be nuts. Imagine death grip and glide lol.
