Why wasn't faction barrier removed and cross faction play enabled?

Title. At this point it serves no purpose.

There is nothing left of the horde to fight.
Our leaders are dead, removed, deposed or villans.

Whats left are the forsaken are homeless in orgimmar.
Tauren are friendly to the alliance.
Trolls have no leader and there isn’t much left of them.
Goblins are basically homeless setting up camp in orgimmar.
Lorthemar is friendly to the alliance.
Orcs are milling about with zero leadership left.

There really is no more War left in World of Warcraft seeing as BFA was the decisive Alliance victory and left them the winners of World of Warcraft.

Who they gonna fight on the Horde now?
We have no warchief, most races are homeless and in shambles.

Might as well dissolve the faction barrier and come up with something new.

I don’t think Blizzard thought too much ahead with BFA writing/story.

Unless I’m missing something the Alliance have nothing left of the horde to fight nor is there any one left in the horde with a reason to fight or capacity too.

Saving it for next xpack or 9.3 lol

because devs still get hard for the divide.

also - they don’t wana admit they are wrong. stuborness. 2 reasons I guess.

I mean I guess its kind of hard to divide when orgimmar is the only thing left to represent the horde.

A bunch of races with no leadership and majority homeless.

The remaining leaders Baine/Lorthemar are pro alliance.
and there is no longer a Warchief lol.

the faction war is dumb, if they wanted to keep it around they never should have removed garrosh and sylvanas from the faction

All this petty dumb war does is become a minor annoyance now. It makes me hate people for tagging my quest mobs before I can wind up a 1.5 sec cast spell then watch it slowly sail over towards the enemy. It makes me wish I could group or even communicate, god forbid, with the other half of the community.

I get to enjoy watching warmode be a dead mode. Rated BG’s be a dead mode. Arenas where I get to fight my own faction and then random BG’s where I get to keep fighting my own faction, but now they’re dressed up as alliance in merc mode… wooooo… such a great tradeoff from cutting me off from the entire other half of the community.

Basically everything you said in those 2 posts and more.

I don’t even see the point of the faction divide.
There is literally no one left on the horde to fight.
All leaders have been killed off and removed.
All of BFA was a catastrophic loss for the horde
Warchief was dissolved.

There is literally no way to recover the faction divide or whats left of horde.

Theres just Baine/Lorth left, both alliance favorable among the ruins of every part of the horde.

Would be pretty hilarious to try and continue the “war” in warcraft at this point

Don’t worry blizzard will just have an alliance leader get caught eating baby orcs or something to start a new war after shadowlands.

Who they going to war with?

Every alliance race has a full standing military
The horde has zero leadership left to pick a fight with alliance.

The core horde races have no standing military, no leadership, most are homeless or too small to matter.

I’m sure w.e blizzard trys to “forcefully conjure up” would have Baine, Lorth and gallywix (lol) look at each other and shrug like nah I don’t need to be killed off or executed in a cinematic by the alliance.

Walk around orgimmar you see homeless forsaken around bonfires.
Vulpera also sitting on a wagon.
Orcs with no leadership or any form of leader.
A small amount of remaining darkspear.
Goblins?
Not even a soul left to elect Warchief.

If that aint 100% total defeat idk what is.
Alliance couldn’t provoke a fight if they wanted too.

They need to keep the option of creating a filler war in the future again.

I keep hearing this phrase but.

What filler war? How? Who you gonna fight? Whose left to fight?

Time for something new.

I think I might actually quit the game if they ever remove the faction barrier.

Because Blizz doesn’t want to. They’re still separate nations and not at all best friends.

The faction war is done for the foreseeable future, but the two faction dynamic is still WoW’s thing. Not being in a state of war anymore doesn’t change that. It’s still a central pillar of the game.

Removing the barrier completely also removes the point of choosing a faction and the consequences involved. Blizz doesn’t want to take that away from WoW.

Because a lot of players would hate it

Normally this would make sense and I’d be inclined to agree.
Alliance won World of Warcraft.
There is no more actual horde
No warchief.

Alliance killed or deposed every character on horde side with the will to fight.

Its like you beat the game and don’t see it lol.
Only thing left is to allow cross faction play/barrier removal.

Unless your gonna magically write up a standing military for every horde faction.
Introduce a new warchief
Rebuild all Horde cities/allied races militaries.

Then also write a reason for them to fight and get massacred for the untold time.

Its over fam, been a good war, but ya’ll won too hard lol

Blizzard has never let the standing lore get in the way before. Why would they start when they write the next faction war storyline?

uh pulling new factions with army to keep the war going out of nowhere is basically what BFA was all about.

also alliance didn’t win the faction war they are just as depleted as the horde and agreed to stop the fighting… for now.

Lastly would you rather the alternative? Where the Horde won and WoW was over because all our characters and every other living being in the setting was dead and being used to power up the jailer? Because that’s where we would be if if Horde had won BFA.

“We want more fights!”
“But…you won them all whose left”
“I don’t care find me someone!”

They did win the faction war.
Sylvanas is deposed and no longer Warchief
Nathanos is dead and an end of expansion closure cinematic for Alliance?
There is no one left on the horde to fight?
Calia/Derek both pro anduin/alliance now have leadership of whats left of Forsaken.
Baine is pro alliance and on ruling council.
Lorth is pro alliance and on ruling council.
There are no other races with leaders or a reason to fight?

Pretty sure you can call that a win.

There is no coulda/shoulda and no rewriting the BFA story. Whats done is done.

The alternative would have been to not kill garrosh and write him into the big bad?

Not do the same for Sylvanas/Nathanos and the forsaken?

Again whats done is done, hindsight doesn’t change only foward now lol.

Officially the Horde was closed out with there is no longer a warchief and now is a council leadership system.

You really cant backtrack from any of this. I mean sure you can write new characters that show up out of the woodwork and suddenly seize power and everyone randomly rallies behind them kind of tyranny thing

But that leaves us back where we started and would be absolutely comical and forced.

I disagree that factions should be dissolved.

I do believe that there should be cross faction dungeons and raids and guilds.

I would, if anything, prefer to see a third faction

we now have lightforged forsaken in lore, I would like to see the forsaken available as a completely separate faction, out to basically forge their own way in the world (much like the original story)

so alliance/horde/forsaken

further to this I would like to see more races become forsaken, undead orcs, trolls, tauren etc. they have the models for it and it would be a nice twist
