he didn’t break his imprisonment, set 5d chess in motion, plan on recreating everything, because there is a bigger bad coming.
That’s just poor writing, once again acting like none of us know any of the story to date.

Think about it. Jaina revealed as dreadlord of the void and laughs as she swoops and grabs Sylvanas by the neck and closes our portals leaving us trapped in SLs.
We get a cutscene of she and her ilk transforming Azeroth into a new dystopia as Bolvar finally remembers the spare key to unlocking the shadowlands in his back pocket.
We return and the planet is 50,000 years in the future. Sylvanas is revealed to be Elune. That’s how Tyrande lost her super Saiyan powers.
I’d say more, but I might spoil the fun.
