Why was the tutorial changed?

There is zero reason Jaina, Wrathion and Khalecgos would be there. It’s terrible writing too. The undead dragon ritual was way way better. All 3 of those characters are very powerful and would of curb stomped every badguy on that island easily. It’s a terrible change. Change it back. After all, what happens when Dragonflight isn’t the default leveling experience anymore hmm?

Sorry, no idea what you’re even on about and how it relates to my post at all.

my transmog is t3 from the old naxx

The tutorial never made any sense and was bad to begin with.

your transmog is okay

They will probably rework it again to fit whatever they put as the default leveling content. Thats always been one of the biggest complaints about leveling, how disconnected everything felt

The tutorial was changed because new players get funneled into dragonflight instead of bfa for leveling now. It’s still bad compared to doing literally any races actual starting area though so no big loss.

Warcraft is dead. There is only Hugcraft. Lore doesn’t matter. Story doesn’t matter. Just the Disney narrative from Dflight onwards.

Heads up forums will use whatever is mogged in slot 1 only.

Think of it as a training exercise. You are given a problem by Jaina and the others and you solve it. Ion said they were making this change and it is designed to fit into Dragonflight for leveling.

It makes sense if they are throwing you into the dragon isles and you have some familiar faces there, at least for wrathion and kalec. Jaina and Thrall are there for when the new players get to TWW and can be like oh I remember these guys right before they up and leave for the rest of the expansion.

The dragons at this point in the story don’t have their aspect powers back (new players wouldn’t know this though) so them getting captured isn’t completely unrealistic - but it is quite a stretch compared to dragonflight where they are holding off the primals (with help)

It’s to tie it into Dragonflight. They are only there to introduce new players to these dragons.

With the revamp after exiles no more city and jump into dragon isles and no more of the “I am confused” crowds.

I did a run through Exile’s Reach like a week ago because I didn’t wanna do Nelf stuff for the millionth time. I didn’t even really notice they changed it. When I got to the dungeon I went “Was this dragon always Kalecgos” and then shrugged and went on my way and didn’t give it another thought.

Kalecgos getting overpowered by Random Joe Ogre is so silly, not to mention how Wrathion/Jaina/whoever are just like, “Nah we’ll just be advisors, you should handle saving our mutual friend’s life, person we just met 10 minutes ago.”

It’s supposedly to be a lead-into Dragonflight but… IIRC, Jaina and Thrall are entirely absent from that expansion except for the wildly hamfisted “Avengers, assemble” moment in the Emerald Dream with Alexstrasza.

I have zero idea what they were trying to accomplish, as it made a tiny shred of sense initially because you re-encounter the NPCs from island as part of the Dragonscale Expedition. Now it’s like, “Here are some important people. You will not see most of them again for a long time. Goodbye!”
