i get that but even at a state of unfriendly relations between nations, we wouldnt jail there royalty.

The Zandalari were enemies of the Alliance since Cataclysm. Talanji was lucky they didn’t fire on her little canoe the moment she entered Strormwind’s waters.

Adding to the fact that humanity has had a long brutal hatred with trolls dating from the Arathi, even longer then they had with orcs it’s no surprised they’d treat any with hostility.

At the beginning of BfA the Zandalari were still at war with both the Alliance abd Horde. It wasn’t a very hot one though since all parties involved have each had bigger problems for a while now.
Talanji was en route to Orgrimmar on a diplomatic mission to begin peace talks with Sylvanas hoping to get the Horde to aid them in exchange for their naval power.
But the Alliance intercepted her, captured her ship and took her as a prisoner of war. Her crew were probably killed since we don’t see them anywhere.

Could’ve had the Alliance intro quest where the players and a ship from the 7th pull up next to and board Talanji’s boat and declare that a hostile nation sailing into our waters is an act of aggression on her part. Thus showing the players why she was imprisoned.
