it hasn’t gotten complicated, you get a new piece you should use it, until you get a BiS, if enchantments weren’t so expensive I wouldn’t have to neuter myself on that journey of getting BiS gear.
plus, you should be able to experiment with stats you want to follow because it MAY help you personally out as your playstyle might be different than what a Sim says is the best, WoW min/maxing has ruined any sort of this and it’s not the fault of the developers per se.
