Why was Kelthuzad called a traitor during the Necrolord campaign?

Maybe I missed something, but today in the Necrolord campaign you find out that Kelthuzad has been working with the Jailer. He is then deemed a traitor by the Lich you are working with.

Were Margrave Gharmal and Margrave Sindane not working with the Jailer then? Or were they working with the Jailer but found out that Kel’thuzad has his own objective that wasn’t part of the ‘plan’?

From what I understand they weren’t allied with the Jailer but were subtly manipulated by Kel’Thuzad with carrying out their ambitions over their oaths.

Gharmal dies(while making the same sort of statements about the system being broken as Devos) so he may have been working with the Jailer along with Vyraz but Sin’dane is a pawn used by Kel’Thuzad for the Jailer’s schemes.

It’s not like the Jailer respects his pawns outside of fulfilling their purpose.

Sire Denathrius’s purpose was to extract Anima from the Death Realms for the Maw, Devos’s purpose was to provide Mawsworn to travel to and fro from the Maw, Helya’s purpose was to lead the Mawsworn when Devos inevitably died, Mueh’zala’s purpose was to corrupt Helya and get Sylvanas the job of Warchief and the Helm of Domination’s purpose was to use Ner’zhul and Frostmourne to corrupt Uther and Sylvanas.

Margrave Gharmal and Margrave Sindane were being manipulated by Kel’Thuzad, who for whatever reason had the armor of the Primus (but does not claim to have taken out the Primus).

Sin’dane was trapped by Kel’Thuzad once she found out the truth and turned against him, Gharmal I think actually sided with the Jailer.

Vyraz has actually NOT been explicitly stated to have been working with Kel’Thuzad, but don’t see how else he would’ve turned.

Alright thanks guys. Why does the Jailer need mawsworn “to travel to and from the Maw” if souls go to the Maw by default with the Arbiter incapacitated?

Only Mawsworn (Ascended Kyrians empowered by Helya who was empowered by Zovaal) seem capable of leaving the Maw of their own accord, given Prepatch, the Kyrian Campaign, and the end of the Necrolord/Venthyr campaign (where some mawsworn pop into Maldraxxus and drag Kel’Thuzad to the maw/torghast).

So yes souls are going in but he needs to have some beings leave too

The souls going to the Maw automatically is a recent development.

So that they can assault the rest of the Shadowlands and Azeroth!

Simply sending Souls and Anima to the Maw won’t satisfy the Jailer’s Purpose! He wants his Mawsworn to assault the Shadowlands and Great Dark Beyond directly!

Of course since all of the Jailer’s allies that have been defeated served their purpose it leads one to ask: What was Gharmal’s purpose? Kel’Thuzad was rescued because he still hadn’t fulfilled his purpose so Gharmal had to have fulfilled his purpose so what was his purpose?

Perhaps Gharmal becoming part of the Kyrian machine of Ascension was infact Gharmal’s purpose maybe?.. His Heart improves Ascension for what it’s worth and allows them to ascend more quickly so it can fulfill a purpose but why would the Jailer aid Bastion?

We only know that Sylvanas’s goal is the end of all things according to the Void yet know nothing of the Jailer’s purpose! For all we know he is simply planning on improving the Shadowlands with his own purpose over the Arbiter’s and is tricking Sylvanas into thinking oblivion is his goal!
