I was just flying towards the Pressure Valve WQ when I was dismounted and marked as an Alliance Assassin. Before this, I had just entered the Ohn’aran Plains after killing 2 rares in the Brackenhide Hollow, but I didn’t engage on any kind of PvP over there. I thought you were marked as an assassin only if you had a kill streak… Was this changed?
Hmm do you have the dragon riding talent that does a little damage when you land, and if so did you land on top of any Alliance players? I think if you do it counts as tagging them and then if they die you get credit or something like that
I do have that talent but I had not encountered any players from the other faction in a few minutes… Is it possible I got credit if the people who helped me kill the rares then killed players without me? Then again, I was already in another zone…
It’s definitely buggy. Was running around with my SO the other day, we both got assassin. We eventually died (alliance come running like cats to treats!) and right when I rezzed, I couldn’t mount up (using ride along on my SO’s drake) and was marked again despite no pvp engagement upon rezzing (no not reading stupid autocorrect!) from either of us.
Wish I knew how to reproduce it so I can give a detailed report to Blizz 🫠
You likely came from a different zone where you had killed enough players to get the Assassin buff, which makes you eligible to become a bounty wherever you go with it. The game basically just assigns a bounty at random every ~10 min from a pool of all the assassins in the zone.
It’s also possible to be marked a bounty shortly after dying and losing your Assassin buff, which seems buggy.
Just relog when you get a bounty put on you and you’re alone.
Thanks for the replies guys
