Why wait till December 10th?

I doubt that had anything to do with it. If you look at the DM/P2 release, they are releasing stuff about twice as fast as originally released. Originally, BGs came out 2 months after the honor system. December 10th is on track with the pservers like fast paced release schedule they are going with. BWL will be out a month later.

True, however, you need to factor in that in these early phases there is a lack of content. It makes sense to accelerate the content up to the release of the first bg. Once WSG is released(It should have been released already), blizzard should stall further content, and let the gear cap sit at MC for a while.

We’re working on leaving trust me. It’ll be World of Hordecraft soon enough.

There is no incentive they can offer which will make someone who doesn’t want to faction change do it anyway. And most people don’t want to faction change.

Sure they could create a new race for alliance like the high elves :stuck_out_tongue: They could add queues so the horde have to wait to play

The entire vanilla cycle was about 2 years. With a major raid released roughly every 6 months. That means MC for six months, BWL for six months, AQ for six months, and then Naxx for six months.

Phase 2 began about 3 months after phase 1 began. And I expect phase 3 to begin about 3 months after phase 2 began.

BG’s are not phase 3, BWL is phase 3. BG’s were added in patch 1.5, and BWL was added in patch 1.6. BG’s should come out before BWL. Blizzard intended to leave out BG’s till phase 3 because a lot of people believed phase 2 would be the kind of golden age of wow. This included Asmongold who proclaimed phase 2 as such just a couple months ago, but who now thinks phase 2 is horrible, boring, and makes him no longer want to play the game(a common sentiment among streamers).

Blizzard had to announce that BG’s would be released soon because the game is currently dying. If BG’s were not introduced to the game for another three months, every PvP server would be dead and would be unrecoverable.

Those who oppose BG’s are now desperately trying to cling to the status quo by making pointless arguments about the amount of time between patch 1.4 and patch 1.5. Usually by erroneously claiming that it was 2 months instead of the actual 1.5 months(April 19th till June 7th). Moreover, they seem to completely ignore why Blizzard released BG’s in the first place.

BG’s weren’t a content patch, they were created to address the problems created by the honor system. Or to put it simply, honor without BG’s was always a mistake.

I personally disregard anyone that uses the word “toxic” unironically.

Can you go be annoying in someone else’s thread? Grownups are trying to have a discussion.

?? At launch we had 1-60, professions, reputations, over a dozen dungeons, 2 raids, and countless other activities.

April 8th.

I’m not opposed to BGs being released early, I would have been fine with them(and the honor system) in place at launch. I played Ely/LH, I knew exactly what was going to happen, it’s why I’m on a over realm now.

My only complaint with the current pace of content is that it will all be out by the middle of next year, and the game will die off. I was looking forward playing this for the next 2+ years. Games like this start to lose their appeal when you can no longer progress.

The population has been in a constant state of decline this entire time. Even before phase 2.

It’s easy to draw conclusions when you really want to believe.

Could be anything. Maybe they want BGs available for the Christmas break.

They have had the ability to release content without patches from the start. The phasing being a loose plan was clearly an option.

Hell yeah m8

Do me a favor, go to your link, scroll down to where it says patch 1.4 on the 8th, then click on patch 1.4. Now tell me what the actual release date was.

The patch was released on April 19th, the patch notes(which is what you linked) were released on April 8th. Patch notes ~= patch.

The honor system lasted 1.5 months before BG’s were released. And Blizzard created the BG’s precisely to solve the problems created by the introduction of the honor system. WSG was to be the place for rankers to go to get honor, and in patch 1.5 there were no WSG rep rewards at all. AV was just alternative 50-60 zone with PvP elements/objectives.

BG’s were “game content” like BWL. They were a solution to a problem.

You’re saying all these dates are for patch notes and not the actual patches?

It’s a timeline of patch notes?

What I said was, if the guy actually clicked patch 1.4 on his link, it would tell him that the release date for patch 1.4 was April 19th. The patch notes themselves were released on April 8th, which just told everyone what to expect in patch 1.4.

And in his link where it says patch 1.4, it actually says “patch notes” in the header.

I guess if you trust Fgsfdss…

no your reasoning is WRONG! the PVP honer system originally came out after 22 weeks. the PVP honer system this time was 11 weeks sure yea 50% faster. They put the FIRST BG IN THE GAME 11 count them 11 WHOLE WEEKS AFTER the PVP system was out. Now BGs will come out on dec 10th after PVP has been out for only 4 weeks 2x4 is only 8 weeks this is 3 weeks faster than the 50% rait they where going at! they are speeding up the release of PVP content because of the way the game is now. the real problem why its so messed up is that servers have way to manny people on them compared to back when classic came out and faction pvp imbalances. what they should do is just put BGs in next week and fix the problem they are having because of faction imbalances. having BGs leads to people /afking while they wait for BGs to pop in main citys greatly reducing the problem in the world with leveling you have now. by time they fly out to kill people there BG has popped and once they enter and leave they have to go all the way back to the main city to reque leading to people eather focusing on world pvp/farming ect or raids/BGs.

So should phase 2 not have started for another 3 months? I hate to break it to you but Classic is not vanilla. Even the idea of having 6 phases instead of 12 patches isn’t blizz-like. Had BG’s not been introduced until phase 3, then phase 2 would have lasted twice as long as it did in 2005. Would that have been OK?

It was actually from April 19th till June 7th, which is 49 days or 7 weeks. And before you continue to rant about how it was April 8th, just pull out a 2005 calendar. What day of the week is the 8th? What day of the week is the 19th?

Patches are on maintenance day, Tuesday. It is impossible for patch 1.4 to have been released on the 8th of April, please stop saying it.

There are many reasons for why phase 2 is as bad as it is.

The population size is one reason. The faction-imbalance is another. The fact that all the PvP gear is the buffed version is also a factor. But also the fact that people now understand how the honor system works, and there are far more hardcore min-maxer types now compared to 2005 when almost everyone would have been considered a casual(and a clicker/keyboard-turner).

I’m sure there are other factors as well, such as the honor system effectively requiring anyone who wants to rank to grief other players 10+ hours a day.

Regardless, the phase 2 fanbois seem oblivious to why Blizzard created BG’s in the first place. And looking at the current state of the game it should be obvious.

Hmm, even if that recent change to the timeline is true, that is still 7 weeks between patches. I also don’t see your point. I played on a PvP realm in 2005 and it wasn’t that bad. There wasn’t this min/max rushing mentality back then that we have today. Rankers weren’t scared of PvP and spent time at SS vs TM battles instead of camping flight points.

It also doesn’t help that Classic servers have a much higher cap than retail vanilla servers.
