Why the upcoming nerf is a bad idea

Currently Fury smashes the meter in the raid by design.
Fury has a set of strong burst AOE skills with relatively short CDs and the raid bosses spawn adds periodically. Guess who gets to pad those adds? Fury, thus higher numbers in the meter.

The upcoming AOE nerf would likely adjust Fury’s place in the raid without killing the spec. The nerf kind of makes sense actually. However… Blizzard obviously didn’t think beyond the raid fights.

If you looks closely…
Who is at the rock bottom of boss damage (ST) ? Fury.
Who starts falling behind when you need sustained multitarget? Fury.

That affects Fury’s position in other contents. My main contents is M+. As a DPS, I need to bring more than occasional AOE burst. If I want to push keys, I need to do well in ST and sustained AOE too I’m currently playing around 9~10s. Quick burst AOE has less meaning as you climb. Mobs have too much HP for quick bursts to matter. Not only that… your fix is diminishing damage beyond number of targets??? You aren’t pulling one pack at a time if you want to time the key. Who the hell is in charge of this? What an idiot.

The right tuning is
Nerf the burst AOE so other classes can have the pie too
Buff ST so we aren’t “hey they have bad ST, don’t bring Fury”
I think sustained AOE can be improved together if ST improves (because that’s how Fury does AOE)

p.s. I don’t want to play Arms… the rotation feels god awful this season.
