Why the rush?

Pretty much. There are server firsts, but it would be a huge disrespect to actual world first guilds, and a joke to try to claim a world first now. It’s been done, when it was much harder pre-1.12 in most cases…

This, this right here is why I’m rushing a warrior to 60 on a pvp server.

Yeah, server first are a thing, I guess. Still feels odd watching some streamers get all jazzed at being a world first… like, what? Decade plus too late.

I really hope blizz doesn’t do any world first tags or announcements. It used to be if I remember correctly, you’d get a system message for a world first or server first in yellow in the chat pain. I could be off… it’s been alot of years…

They say it as a joke. Asmongold said, “WORLD FIRST!” when he gathered a raid to kill Stitches, despite having someone put Stitches’ Femur in trade earlier and acknowledging that it had already been killed.

Well, I just got home from work and saw not only did this thread kind of blow up with responses (thanks for making me feel better), but I guess I’m in the stress test tomorrow. I have no idea if this means beta as well, but thanks for the replies!

I’ll rush my first char to 60 in less than a month. Hopefully a lot less. For me it’s not so much any tangible benefit, but the spectacle of the opening of the server amongst the very first 60s and earliest dungeon runners and raiders. I will make alts and do professions later, take my time and really savor leveling.

99.9999999% of players will take at least 1 month if not as far out as 6 months to reach 60.

The guys looking to burn through raids as soon as they are out will be whining about having nothing to do.

Just like they did in vanilla.

See, that’s what I was thinking. They’ll be bored because they missed all the little things that happen as you level up.

you want that, and other people want to be 60 and clear MC and get ahead on the gear grind for phase 2

I’ll give you 2 guesses where the high levels ganking low levels come from.

I understand that. I doubt I’ll ever see Naxx honestly. I’d love too, but it almost sounds like I’ll be left in the dust before it starts

Exactly, these people want to be “famous” for getting MC down within 2 weeks of launch. Personally I’ll earn my rep by being a good tank and helpful to others, I would much rather get that reputation than being the guy who hit 60 in week 1!.

Also consider that achieving things for yourself and your team/guild feels great too; the nature of ambition etc. Maybe it’s just a type A thing.

Uh basically cause you can also lvl up professions, doing all dungeons etc after you get to lv 60 lot more easier. And the most important at all, after you get to lv 60, there’s a lower risk of getting pwned by the opposite faction.

mmmk

Of course you can. Don’t let other people tell you how to play the game.

Just find people who want to play the game similarly to you - will make things sooo much more enjoyable. I wouldn’t expect there to be any shortage of players who want to take their time to the endgame.

Vanilla WoW launched in the US on November 23, 2004

Naxx was added on June 20, 2006

I have no idea…only Blizz knows at this point…, but from what they have announced so far, I would strongly suspect the release times in Classic will be much closer to those original time periods than the greatly accelerated time periods that private servers push patch releases out at.

There will most likely be people and guilds at most levels of progression throughout just like in retail vanilla imo.

Many think servers will die out over time…and some surely will. I tend to think overall servers will get better over time, even if a few need to merge here and there. As the tourists grow tired and leave, I think the server communities will get better overall.

Though the higher pop caps may limit that.

There is no too late in classic. It’s not going to go anywhere. There will be no expansions to it. We can rush it or chill and raid with who ever we raid with. The gear sets are individually tailored to each raid. Unlike BFA where it’s one set for everything. Lots of work ahead of us classic fans. I played from Feb 2004 and I still did not have enough time to see NAXX or AQ. But thanks to Classic, I think it just might be possible.

Blame retail for people wanting to rush.
