Why the restrictions on 'holiday only' mogs?

Seriously: if we spent the time to unlock say, the offhand basket mog (which is good for RP purposes!) or say, the Pilgrim’s Bounty dresses (which are some of the best ‘simple clothing’ mogs you can use as for some reason the other simple clothing looking items are all grays/whites)

If we unlock a mog, let us use the dadgum mog, year round. The unlock being restricted to the holiday is fine, but the use of the unlock being tied to only that time frame is not.

It’s because they’re worried we’ll dress funny. Same reason they’d never add floppy fish as moggable weapons.

Oh wait.

It is somewhat understandable for trying to keep the theme of the game from getting too out of hand, so like we don’t have Santa gnomes running around in mid summer, but this kind of thing starts becoming redundant as time goes on since a lot new items can start pushing the boundaries of what’s really acceptable in comparison, just like what happened in Team Fortress 2.

all of the Noblegarden dresses are event only, even though they look like regular clothes. Same with many of the Pilgrims Bounty, and the Midsummer chinese style outfits

Bronze-Tinted Sunglasses, WoW anniversary only:

Sprite Darter transmog, year round:

Wearing holiday items during non-holiday times for those items is considered UNAUTHORIZED AND INAPPROPRIATE FUN and thus will be prevented and/or eliminated at all costs.

We are only permitted to have authorized and appropriate forms of fun. Any attempts to circumvent the Prime Rule of WoW will be dealt with swiftly and harshly. You have been warned!

You wouldnt want to cook easter or thanksgiving meals 365 days out of the year or buy presents for christmas 365 days out of the year, so why would you want to decorate yourself in holidaywear 365 days out of the year??

because much of the ‘holiday wear’ in game isn’t exactly that, like the noblegarden dresses, the egg basket off hand mog (great for a ‘granny’ type rp mog set btw) the summerveil or w/e has asian themed suits which would look right at home in any pandaren’s closet too, and there is a great pilgrims bounty dress that looks kind of tribally which mogs well for ‘tauren commoner’ type looks too

Holiday transmog restrictions are dumb.

I think you mean the Lunar Festival Chinese-style outfits, not Midsummer. The latter has a flame/light theme.

that’s the one, sorry, just…so many festivals and holidays any more between game and irl it’s hard to keep track
