After the first layer I was already questioning why I’m playing this borefest. I can’t imagine repeating that misery seven more times.
Unless you want the achievement for killing all the bosses in there. A handful of those guys are soloable. Many are not.
Achievement - totally optional
I agree with much of your post.
Personally, I like the limited amount of time a player has in the maw because I like that on-edge feeling I get when I’m pushing my luck.
Sometimes, I have to leave the weekly Venari quests on the map, while focusing the dailies.
But, I see your points as extremely valid.
Great post!
The same could be said of everything in the Maw aside from the weekly soul collection quests.
It’s not. You can gear to 226 with virtually no PvE content
Not if you want the correct stats, sockets, and legendaries. This really isn’t up for debate, if you want to be competitive you must participate in PvE. The system is that way by Blizzard’s intentional design.
Usually what happens now is people start to move goalposts around and argue it’s not a big deal, or a lot of work.
Next patch we invade the Mall and establish a base of operations. It will be much better then
LOL , Every time my renown gives me that cute perk to rescue even more souls from the maw. I think “oh a new way to gain the jailors quickly”. Retrieving 20 souls take me to lvl2, add a daily or a rare and poof your getting shackled in place every 3 seconds.
My guy… 9/10 of the best legendaries from PvP require one Torghast run or one world boss kill. Some are from dungeons but that’s hardly PvE considering it’s a very high drop rate on M0. The best gear for PvP with the best stats comes from the conquest vendor
When your wining in the maw the fear comes and right off the side you go . My pets do 3 times more damage then my charter so i use it fire them in bring back .like 1 shoting them gorllia war fare. But you get zip
I’m sad that I used to defend the Maw after seeing it in Beta (and playing it in Beta). The eye of the jailer felt much slower and mobs didn’t feel as condensed. This live Maw is horrible. I avoid it at all costs.
OP, you had me at “Maw + Failure”
We already have that, it was called Nazjatar pre-flying.
I think the only thing I care about is doing the rep grind which I neglected (which seems to go by fast with the weekly quests at least) and seeing where the story with Ven’ari goes in general. Other than that meh, I’ll just go do Torghast for alts when I need to.
That was the point in designing it. That was the theme they were going for.
Again, That is the point of it.
althrough I have never done a maw group I can see this being an issue and should be addressed.
I actually really enjoy the maw, though I can see why most don’t enjoy it. My only gripe about the area is the missile barrages. You could be in a little corner and start typing in gchat or party and anytime I start typing - there’s no time to dodge and youre just pinned down. That gets very annoying fast. I’d be fine if instead of how it works now maybe have them fire off more frequently while you’re in combat. As it is now, they’re real easy to dodge in combat but if I find myself trying to message someone in game - I’ll always get hit by it.
Bad on purpose is still bad.
If this is true, then this is a game I don’t want to play.
“It’s suppose to be bad guys! Therefore to criticize it is missing the point!!!”
Y’all I play a game to have fun. Something designed to be bad is, as quoted, STILL BAD. And I’m not going to play a game that is actively trying to give me a bad time. I go to the maw once a week to do those weekly quests and they get out as fast as I can. Glad I only wanna spent 15 min tops a week in what was meant to be a significant portion of the game.
