Why the lack of Customization?

I understand that the timing would be terrible, but honestly I don’t see anything wrong with wearing that if you like to do it, let’s see, nobody is going to force your character to do anything, you put it on if you like it. I would put it on mine if i have the oportunity XD

On the second point, I think you understand what I was about, we can discuss a lot about design but that is not my point, my point is that I want jewelry for the male BE XD

wtf man? let them say what they want, it’s not like it matters. I think you are giving too much value to the opinion of the wrong people, let people dress what they want, this is a game here nobody forces anyone to wear X or Y.

Also, something that helps you feel good how your character looks is NEVER useless.

The mint green one? I did use that one for a time, but I disliked how it looked “bluer” when using teal / turquiose colored tmogs (no people, “teal” is not a “High Elf” color… check the Icon of Blood).

That´s kind off the point… at least for me, that kind of jewerly design accomplishes the exact OPOSSITE feeling from “feeling good”.

I´m a Belf lore junkie you see, thet became my favorite race NOT because of their “doll faces” but because their story is about how a collective of people can manage to summon inner courage and persistence to survive and get back their lives in order after a catastrophe knocked at their proverbial doors. “Cute -but realistically and ultimately, useless- jewerly” doesn´t talk to me about the trials and tribulations these people have confronted to slowly get their nation back up standing but about how superficial they must be if they care more about “looking good” than protecting their bodies.

My petitions in january were quite simple: the runic tattoos / scarifications on the TBC artbox and scars. Jewerly isn´t something I care to use with my toons, I don´t think it properly represents the actual Belves as per their canon lore but represents the “image” their /silly and the jokes in bad taste made in the Cata era.

Yeah that’s the one. Again, I tend to pair my eyes with my mog even though in real life no one colour codes their eyes to their outfit lol

Pretty sure Ion went back on his word. And Belves did regain their blue eyes. The RP purpose thing was a broad thing that applied to many races like trolls and wildhammers. Helves too but I don’t think that means Belves lost that tint.

If you have an official source, please share. As a weirdo player who puts an insane value on the story, that detail literally ruined those eye options for me.

Golden I banned cause I refuse to entertain my rogue is some “pieous” Light worshipping fanatic (as per Danuser last tweet on that issue, golden eyes are the result from “devotion” to the Light, not Sunwell irradiation nor any other weird idea running rampant on the forums).

Psht, golden is only color I have used since we got it. :yum: :yum: :yum:

Two paths same outcome. (mas o menos)

So long as there is some way to give each “race” the racials of the group you’re trying to be I see no issues with that really.

They were Scourge. I’d be cautious too.

Doesn’t mean that they were rejected. They all died before they completed their “trial” run.

Path is still open to them in the Horde, and given that its Horde players who’ve been requesting them, that the Alliance doesn’t like undead nearly as much as the Horde, and that their own people are Horde I find it hard to place the San’layn with the Alliance.

They have no connections to the Alliance.

All of that is of course my thoughts on it. Folk are welcome to request what they like.

Everyone deserves this one. T_T

Wildhammer with bronzebeard racials is the main issue. Honestly if they’d have some way to give Wildhammer a Stormhammer racial and something to do with their gryphons I’d be much less salty.

This too.

Eh more I’d see the Devoted Sethrak going Horde, while a group of former Faithless flee justifiable persecution to the Alliance who accepts them because free troops.

Neither case need to be in the Sethrak’s case… or any other really. Blizzard should and could easily establish homes for all these races outside Stormwind.

Like I said. My interest is in Neutral. (I also wont balk if they go Horde. or just Alliance.) I just want the Sethrak Playable.

For you, that is YOUR perception, not mine, do you want to impose your perception on others? an option in the game is that, an option, if you don’t like it, you don’t use it, there is reason to deprive others who freely want to use it. :man_shrugging:

Well, I also love their lore, but I never saw them with such good eyes as you. For me it was a group of people shattered, suffered who united in an attempt to survive, and that in the few moments of rest that they had they gave themselves to edonism to enjoy the moment because they did not know what tomorrow would be, who did not hesitate to seek power from whatever source they had in the reach to continue subsisting. Even now the elves are still addicted, simply that with the restoration of the source of the sun they have a safe source of energy, but if you go outside of Azeroth or even just outside of the continent, you can still fall into addiction.

For me the characteristics of BE are: magic, willpower, addiction, edonism. :man_shrugging:

Hehehe, you don´t suffer from the “handicaps” I put on myself.

Being a lore fanatic does suck regarding the latest expacs.

XS still makes the Horde the “baddies who exiled the Faithless for no good reason!!”

I mean, you know I have zero faith on the writting team… they have proved over and over again that creating an actually NUANCED faction war narrative is simply out of the scope of their skills, period.

Also and before I forget: I´d like damaged ears too… as Tarrok wisely pointed to in the Belf thread, considering the size of the ears the elves of this game should sport more errr… “damage” on that part of their bodies.

Yes, that´s exactly what I said. I don´t pretend to speak for the rest of the players, and I assume they don´t speak for me either.

You may like those designs and mourned their loss, I felt reasured when they dissapeared. This does not mean one of us is right and the other wrong, it simply means we appreciate stuff from a different perspective.

And it´s quite obvious I´ll vouch for the customizations that appeal to MY tastes. Just like you will appeal to your tastes, that´s absolutely fine and expected.

I never put “Hedonism” on the table cause apart from ONE quest on the Eversong zones, nothing in the lore implies the Belves are particularly hedonistic. Heck, in “Blood of the Highborne” their first complain to Kael´thas when he reached Silvermoon after the zombie apocalypse wasn´t “where will we buy our cosmetics / wine / jewerly?” but “what will we EAT -they were suffering FAMINE ffs!!!”-. Hedonism doesn´t improve your survival chances, quite the opposite, it makes you reckless… all the “hedonists” on the Belf society? yup, you can find them easily, they´re called Wretched. Belves that lacked the discipline to control their addiction impulses degenerated into beast that ended up becoming the target practice of the Blood Knights and the Farstriders. This narrative is the whole morale of the story regarding Galell, for example.

I suppose as a fanatic, I went much MUCH deeper on Belf lore than you, my man. Even Golden in the lastes novel mentioned how Belves currently see displays of oppulence as stuff of bad taste thanks to the actual restrictions they have suffered post Arthas mayhem.

I also hope we get additional playable races. I would really like to play as the covenant races.

Well it does help that in this characters backstory I’m a Holy Warlock, for example when I cast stuff like shadow bolt I like to pretend it’s holy bolt and before you say it or think it, yeah I’m really random to actually game with.

That would be really cool.

I did mention you guys as per actual canon lore probably pretend you are a rando “Magister” or “High Priest” while in daylight and go back to your homes to summon demons and act naughty indeed on nightime or outside of prying eyes (as per canon lore Fel is “officially repudied” in quel´thalas. Individuals may secretly continue the usage, but the government certainly doesn´t endorse the practice… it never did on Azeroth, reason why Lor´themar et all went all /pikachu face when Kael came back as a demon mutant -the Sunfury are their own can of worms-).

These do not represent hedonism, they represent a lack of willpower.

Hedonism is not only present in celebrations and parties, the entire lifestyle of BEs, especially casters, revolved around fel in his time, which is even more addictive than other forms of magic, consuming fel generates extrasis, and always has been normal to see how those who consume fel want more and more and become maniacs, this has been seen again in Legion with the NB. The entire BE society depended on fel for a while, they just released it before going to hell, and yet MANY of them were consumed by the power and extasy generated by the fel. They were on heavy drugs.

Nowadays it is a different story because they have already released the fel, at least most of them, but for me this is partly what makes them more boring. For example the blood knights stopped being SoB who forced the light at their will and now they are the good paladins like everyone else.

At least this is my interpretation of their situation.

I did, and i think they should get more jewelry colors because is really hard to match them with tmogs, i still like nightborne jewelry options more than i like blood elf or LF draenei ones.

To be honest i prefer their hair texture over night elves. Night elves hair texture is one of the worst in game.

What causes “lack of willpower”? Hedonism.

The very Grand Magister (a.k.a. the casters “Big Bad Boss”) explained to Liadrin in “Blood of the Highborne” that the path of the Blood Elves wasn´t one of indulgence but one of “balance” (that´s why he picked her to be the Blood Knights matriarch, cause she represented that balance between being a warrior -willing to shed blood- and a pieous priest -willing to save lives-.)

Literally the hedonists that couldn´t keep the balance inevitably became Wretched. and this is reinforced over and over and over again in the intro quest zones.

This literally supports my point (again: undisciplined, hedonist Belves won´t manage to balance their addiction, ergo degenerating into Wretched). I mean ffs, it is literally EXPLAINED in the very FIRST quest one does when creating a Belf toon, how did you people missed the memo?!?

Not on Azertoh as per the ACTUAL REAL canon lore, dude. the Sunfury and the Belves stationed in Outland with Kael´thas did, but the Belves that stayed behind? Vanilla mana leeching from pests.

They are still pretty much on drugs, the drugs are just delivered passively (what do you think is the purpose of the sunwell, hmm?)

I suspect you would always find them “more boring” considering you never actually invested on the actual lore but stayed with the dated missconceptions.

Look at your toon, a DH Illidari. What was the “requirement” for him to become a "good, efficient and more importantly, functional DH?: willpower AND balance. He needs to be STRONG enough to control the demon inhabiting his body and DISCIPLINED enough to not falter to Fel overcomsumption temptation.

Not terrtibly different from your average Belf… is not about “edginess” is about being disciplined enough to function while using high risk measures.

I can’t find it because I don’t remember the exact wording so I can’t google it. If I find it I’ll let you know.

Yeah I get that, is not weird, is part of what customization represents after all.

Lightforgeds wannabes.

Yeah, also literal drugs too. Bloodthistle…

go tell that to the crystals that are all over the city that are used to keep the population “healthy” :man_shrugging: the naaru, Rommath and the fell crystals were Kael’thas’s “gifts” for Silvermoon, all of this before you officially create your character for the first time on TBC, do you think green eyes are free?
