Then maybe choose a different covenant. Not that that’ll matter; you’ll just find something new to complain about.
This feels like a garrosh situation in WoD when people began asking, “Why am I buying Warlords of Draenor if i’m going against my warchief?”.
edit: That said, saving the teldrassil souls isn’t actually going against the horde in any manner nor is it against the Forsaken ethics compared to what you might be mistaken for, a Scourge minion.

Strategy! Where are the other warlocks going? Venthyr or Necrolord? That’s competition right there. Defying the crowd means you get the night fae secrets and power all for yourself.
And you can’t deny the fairies are cute. Snatch a few on your way back to Azeroth. 
Actually going NL or V are the outliers, as most warlocks are NF.
I mean, if you ignore story in favor of gameplay you’re bound to run into story elements you don’t want.

I went Necrolord cause screw meta, but the handicap is noticeable.
