Wow what a above and beyond nerd rage!
I donât rp, but you have got to admit that when it comes to rp blizzard tends to ignore you every expansion. They never add anything for rp value, unlike the final fantasy mmo.
Blizzard doesnât care to listen to the RP community because it stands as the minority. Their priorities lie with the biggest sub count, raiders and PvPers. Itâs always been like that and likely will never change.
Unfortunate? Yes, greatly.
Donât see the purpose of us not able to talk with enemy factionâŠ
If we could that would honestly increase faction honestly rivalry tbh
That isnât entirely accurate. They did finally listen to us a couple of years ago and unsharded the argent grounds for Tournament of Ages. Maybe if we put up more of a fight like we did then, things could change?
Maybe, I just know you guys deserve a lot better.
Look I donât think wows big deal about no cross faction talking is worthwhileâŠbut they enforce it and disabling a third party add-on that breaks their (even dumb ) policies is to be expected
The Cross-Faction barrier really should just be eliminated for RP servers. It can stand on non-RP servers, but for RP servers in particular it shouldnât be a thing.
Agreed 100%. Itâs extremely limiting and doesnât make a lot of sense. Alliance and Horde interact within the lore constantly, Alliance/Horde interaction is the whole basis of the entire game, so why wouldnât that type of roleplay be allowed? I honestly want to hear Blizzâs reasoning for why rp interaction with the opposite faction isnât allowed.
Iâm glad they disabled it. I hope they disable more RP based addons. After all, so many RPâer want IO scores and WQGF disabled. Heckâem!
Well, this is rather disappointing. Itâs just going to chase RPers out of game and into discord servers.
Blizzard hasnât done anything for RPers since the game has launched. Iâm so envious of games like ESO that have many more RP / emote commands, buildable homes, etc.
Honestly, the most Blizzard has done for RP community is transmoggingâŠand letâs face it, thatâs for EVERYoneâŠ
Having new emote commands would be amazing.
The thing about ESO is they have a /drink command like WoW which makes your character drink out of a mug, then they have things like /drink2 and 3 which give you different glasses (wine glass, etc) itâs really, to me, simplistic stuff that adds depth to the game.
Ohmygerd!!! Blizzard didnât continue letting an add on violate their policies omfgerd blizz why u make my life hard
âWow it doesnât affect me, even if it ruins a gameplay style for others, so Iâm just going to be snarky and not attempt to care!â
It didnât break any policy.
You clearly have no idea what youâre talking about and didnât even read. It violated nothing. Now go away. You donât have anything of value to add here.
Theyâre a known troll here who tries to rile people up (seriously, take like, a five second look at their topics). Just flag and ignore them.
Fair enough.
Hopefully Blizz just lets us naturally read other factionâs /says and /yells⊠like by letting all Horde choose to speak Common, or something⊠or learn racial / faction languages somehow, like a language trainer⊠and hires some more moderators to ban people who abuse others in chat, and makes the /ignore list infinite instead of capped at 200 or whatever nonsense it is right now so people can ignore whoever they donât like to hear from.
And let me talk to my opponent in Hearthstone. Stop treating me like Iâm toxic.
It didnât. Nothing like that ever happened. CrossRP worked through communities, which made it effectively an invite system. Contrary to popular belief, it didnât allow random people to throw toxic bile at people on the opposite faction.
The thing about CrossRP is that it was used by a sect of roleplayers who genuinely couldnât care less about the faction war. In every single instance I can think of people used it for constructive, friendly roleplay. It allowed friends who otherwise would be labeled as enemies by the game to roleplay together. Just look at what it did for the Tournament of Ages. Last yearâs event drew thousands of players, and it was facilitated by this addon. It was great.
And now itâs gone. This isnât just an issue of trying to police communication between factions. This is Blizzard trying to force this contrived faction story down our throats and robbing a very real chunk of the community of something they enjoy. Like I said, this addon isnât used by a handful of people. Tens of thousands used it. Thatâs tens of thousands of people who were basically told that they couldnât roleplay, on a roleplaying realm, the way they wanted.
The irony of this is that they have a mechanic that allows you to opt out of the faction war as far as world gameplay. Go figure.
