Not making a judgement based on what you just said, but there a bit of nuance that does share commonality with this thread.
The veteran and civilian are not alike.
The veteran will have many changes in the way they view the world that the civilian will never understand, and the veteran will change based on their experience as a combatant.
These two world rarely share the same connectivity.
I know after I got out, I didn’t want anything to do with civilian life, and over the next decade, did my best to avoid civilians at all costs. Their communal spaces, their conversations, their ideals. It wasn’t until the last few years where I have recognized that the civilian population may need us combat vets more then ever. This idea keeps picking up traction, more and more as time goes on.
why do these posts always veer off into such weird stuff? quit using a game forum when you evidently need to take this stuff somewhere else and posting these problems on the internet idk about all that.
The game has been tainted forever after the changes.
There’s not turning back now. Removing the offenders was the right call but overextending too much of REAL life into a FANTASY game it never ends well.
b-but I wanna talk about how we got the modern frog from now-dawn of time D: don’t take away my ability to discuss the evolutionary make up of froggos.
I am here for the same reason as always, or at least since around 2013.
My post count doesn’t really tell the story, but I remember the days Eonix used to roast forum posters regularly. If you are unaware, that is a forums post with Blue text, roasting people about what they thought World of Warcraft should be.
Fast forward to today and these forums are so delicious now.
The latest step in censoring the game was inevitable. It started with the push to streamline the report system. Making sure to remove things people thought were offensive that they would read. Then it was all about being inclusive and the removal of the old and introduction to the new.
On the face, they look like paradigms of well received and needed changes. What I saw was the begging of the end. Not that I cared about the changes, they didn’t really apply to me. It was the static call that with this first step of censorship, only more can possibly follow. It never goes the other way.
To me, this is everyone getting what they deserve, even if it is pissing people off, and wrong. This is the world every loud voice shouted for. And this is the world you will all come to despise because of it.
A trans black woman will face more systemic oppression from people like you. A white woman cannot be racially discriminated against in the USA because racism = power+prejudice.
White women can and do however experience run of the mill misogyny from people like you in this country to this day.
Just like I as a gay man face constant homophobia.
A straight man cannot understand what it feels like to be the victim of a lifetime of homophobia, just as a white man cannot feel what its like to be the victim of systemic racism a black man experiences to this day.
On that note, friendly reminder: BLACK LIVES MATTER
Again, with politics and labels. You have no idea who you are speaking with on the other end or what they understand but if you toss your politics into it because they’re currently mainstream, you believe that somehow validates your argument
This is a prime example of what I am talking about here.
This entire thread goes on about how Vote Kicking is discriminatory.
That may very well be the case, but people forget, there was a time before Vote Kicking was a thing. You see, a long time ago, you used to have to join a group and travel to the dungeon. Vote Kicking wasn’t an issue, because you would have to send a person, or two, all the way back to a major city to find a replacement.
Everyone thought the LFD tool was the new greatness. After a while, people figured out you could join a group and do nothing, or ruin a run with no penalties. So, the players who wanted the easy ticket to fast dungeons and faster rewards, who complained about not getting in enough groups because before you had to be social, are now complaining that the Vote Kick system is flawed and Blizzard needs to fix it.
There is no fix. There is no way to make everyone happy. But the most vocal and “oppressed” people in the system that is being questioned, want things to more to their liking. Problem is, every step you take to make it more to their liking, it causes more problems in the long run.
idk talonel theres quite a few black rich guys who live in cali who sware australia is worse than america in 2021. imagine all them podcasts i listen to that claim the same go away with your weirdness.
It’s code for “hey, look at me mods, I’m one of the good guys”
Just a few posts up he accused me of being alt-right because I am a woman that supports all women, where he thought it’s appropriate to label and divide us into groups and sub-groups.
How does that relate to removing questionable content? Do you think subscribers are going to unsubscribe because they turned a picture of a women into fruit?
