Why TBC is bad for classic

  1. Nothing wrong with flying.

  2. Class balance would have happened without Arena. In classic most of the hybrid dps specs were garbage and the tank specs excepting the Warrior weren’t where they needed to be.

The problem with PvP in general was that they never separated it entirely from PvE. This meant that classes suffered in one mode or the other because of balancing changes. This is why, for instance, Frost mages sucked in PvE for a decade.

I don’t know whether they go with BC or not. I would be fine with either direction, or both.

EverQuest has servers that time the release of expansions, and others where the servers vote to implement the next one… I kind of hope Blizzard goes that route eventually with patches.

I really want them to follow the EQ model. It’s already been done, why reinvent the wheel? The server vote system is interesting, since you throw it to the players specifically on a server to see if they want to move to the next expansion or not. Blizz could even release fresh classic servers at that time so people who want to do it again can do so and people who want to move on can do so.

That’s an interesting idea…it it also has the potential to really fracture the playerbase. Instead of retail and classic, it’ll be retail, classic and BC…

That could get very dicey a few years down the line…if they’re really thinking of bringing back BC and beyond.

It’s only use is to allow you to avoid the herds of trash mobs Blizzard stick everywhere to slow your progress down while you’re still unable to fly … ‘amazing’ it certainly isn’t.

If that’s what people want, then so be it. There are many of us who play classic but actually have our hearts dead set on TBC. I don’t want to force people who don’t want TBC to play TBC. There will be sufficient servers to appease all as long as Blizz does it right and keeps its ears open.

At the end of the day, I don’t think we’d have to choose. It makes plenty of sense that they would leave Classic servers alone, and open new TBC servers. Maybe with the option of moving your Classic Characters over to the new, separate, TBC servers.

It had a lot to do with the feeling of being in an empty world. It’s best left out.

I’m in that exact same boat. I’m loving getting to play through Classic again. I didn’t get to do much back when I first played, so it’s great getting to go back and fully experience vanilla.

Having said that, TBC is where I truly fell in love with WoW, and can’t think of anything that would bring me more enjoyment more than getting to play through it again.

whats the lazy thing for blizzard to to make millions?..just release tbc.

TBC was interesting, but not interesting enough to negate all of vanilla wow.

TBC isn’t bad for Classic because if it releases, they will likely make Classic servers and TBC servers separate.

Classic can continue being Classic, and TBC can be it’s own thing, and the audiences who love them can each love their respective thing w/out being hindered by the other.

Flying was activated after completing leveling so that wasn’t horrible, but it really changed how traveling/questing/interacting with the world worked. Also daily quests changed how you play the game. I think both were for the worse as it started the dumbification of wow.

The raiding in BC was probably best of wow. The pre-raid stuff had too much ‘well fare epics’ going on though. Even noobs could do PUGs or buy stuff with badges to get gear. The item level race started which wasn’t that great.

BC introduced arena and the most balanced PvP. …but PvP and PvE gear split and having to balance classes for both PvP and PvE at the same time didn’t work well. Classes got watered down and forced into certain specs. World PvP died too.

Outland was okay, but kind of bland and funky in some areas. Strayed away from traditional wow theme. There were so many questions and stuff going on that
wasn’t coherent.

All this talk about re-releasing BC…all blizzard needs to do is just update classic to whatever direction they choose. For example, they could add arena…change balance…add raids… etc It doesn’t have to be an xpac re-release. Just keep it classic.

There’s things I’d love to see added to Classic, like how they made PvP only a viable way to play the game. I never really was into raids, myself. I thought BC was cool when it first came out too, but it was 100% the start of all the things that ruined the game. That’s just my opinion, and everyone else’s whose been wanting Vanilla back since TBC. When we start talking about expansions, doesn’t that defeat the purpose of having a “Classic?”

Spoiler alert, over half the people back for classic assume it’s going into BC otherwise they would have never come back. I’m in that boat. Everyone of my friends are in that boat. In fact, some of my friends have already gone back to FF14 and are waiting for BC.

Don’t waste your time with these threads. Money drives blizzard, not self-serving posts like these.

Maube YOU don’t want BC, but the facts are this, BC and Lich King were the most profitable eras of this game for Blizzard.

Dem facts doh.

Trust me, after 2 years of classic you’ll be begging for BC. I have a /played of 42 days on Elysium over the last 2 years and I’m already sick to death of it again. I don’t even plan on raiding in classic. I’m waiting for BC, leveling up 2-3 toons while I also play FF14 in parallel. If I don’t start seeing official talk out of Blizzard about the roadmap for classic, I will leave. End of discussion. Not gonna be led around with a carrot for 2 years. Been there, done that.

I am back for BC and Lich King. PERIOD. Nothing short of that.

I honestly think it would be more interesting if they decided to take an entire other route and make a new timeline with a new story. I don’t think it would happen, but it’d be cool.

The issue with adding BC is that if people wanted them to slowly build up Classic through the old expansions, would’nt we eventually just get to the same problems that made people ask for this Classic renewal in the first place?

Most logical people don’t want them to add BC to Classic servers, they want them to add separate TBC servers.

My first max level toon was a blood elf.

Playing classic, the horde just has a stronger identity, and I will forever prefer not having blood elves.

Let’s stay on azeroth! Outland Essentially made azeroth obsolete.

TBC was way better then classic wow.

Wrath without flying would be absolutely terrible, because the end zones were created specifically with flying in mind.

None of that has anything to do with Classic.

When they launch TBC Classic will still be Classic
