I hate seeing female characters being introduced only to become a male character’s love interest. I feel like she was introduced as a strong woman who has her own responsibilities in Boralus and the fact that people immediately went “omg she’s gonna be Anduin’s wife” is so annoying to me. Why can’t she be her own person? I feel like marrying her off to Anduin would be kind of disrespectful, like her only purpose from the beginning was to become queen and have babies.
While I agree the the premise that Taelia could probably do as a single woman, it’s pretty much setup as a pretty reasonable possibility.
With Bolvar basically help raise Anduin for a number of years before being scorched. As well as Bolvar previously playing an important part in Stormwind’s leadership, eventually leading to Anduin’s proper reign after Varian bit the dust.
If nothing else, Anduin can probably look to Calia like a cousin similarly to how he looks to Jaina as “Auntie” (IMO I find that somewhat creepy but wahtever).
Why is it creepy that he calls Jaina aunt? I called my mom’s best friend aunt as a kid as well. And I understand that it’s a possibility, but why is it automatically assumed that she’s going to marry Anduin just because she’s a woman around his age whose dad Anduin admired? She shouldn’t default to love interest just because of that.
WRANDUIN WHEN?
Body IS clear, and it IS a complete sentence.
Never. It would cause too much friction when Wrathion joins the Horde.
Honestly, the only thing stopping Wranduin from happening is Blizz being cowards. Wrathion is literally the perfect match for Anduin.
So basically what people were ranting about in terms of Alleria and Turalyon. I mean the idea of Taelia being together with Anduin would spark a way of possible choices for the remaining human race to have a Living Human Queen in a long while. Plus the remaining Kingdoms has only Kings and Lords in them instead of Queens. I mean there’s Jaina’s Mother for example but how long will she last as Lord Admiral of Kul’tiras?
So I don’t see the problem of Taelia being with Anduin.
The difference with Alleria and Turalyon is that Anduin is the king of Stormwind, so if Taelia married Anduin, she’d basically have to abandon her duties in Boralus to become queen of Stormwind and have babies. Why can’t she just keep doing her thing in Boralus?
She can still do her own thing while being Queen. What’s stopping other Female Characters from doing their own thing just because they ended up having children.
Vereesa had Kids and didn’t stop her from continuing her leadership within the Silver Covenant, Alleria had a Kid but She’s also a Leader of the Void Elves and did actions against the Horde during BFA, Thrall and his Wife had Kids and yet we see Thrall and his Wife helping out the Shamans in the Maelstorm during Legion, Moira has a Son and yet She’s still leading the Dwarven Race within Ironforge and yet She still proves to play major roles within the Story during Mop, and of course etc.
Do I also need to bring up Thrall’s Mom too.
Sure, but when did a queen of Stormwind ever do anything? Do you really trust Blizzard to make her queen and continue working on her character?
Wut? Anduin (I meant Wrathion, I’ll keep this here as a testament to my tiny brain) will be the Alliance’s black dragon, and Ebonhorn will be the Horde’s. What makes you think he’ll go Horde?
Yeah you know he just manipulated Anduin, got the Alliance army massacred, orchestrated the events that led to Varian’s death.
A wholesome choice for life partner, Hannibal.
I don’t think Anduin will be King of Stormwind much longer. I think they are preparing to villain-bat him. So marrying Taelia will be the least of his concerns.
Also agree, having Taelia marrying Anduin be the epitome of her reason for existing is tacky.
That’s not at all how it went down. Wrathion was worried about the Legion and thought Azeroth didn’t stand a chance the way they were, so when Kairoz came up with the plan to help Garrosh escape, he helped them because he thought Garrosh would recruit the old Horde and bring them back to Azeroth to help defeat the Legion. But Garrosh betrayed them both, killed Kairoz and recruited the Iron Horde for his own gain instead.
Wrathion is a bit naïve when it comes to people’s intentions and he couldn’t have predicted that. He also couldn’t have predicted that alt Gul’dan would end up in present Azeroth and kill Varian. Obviously, Anduin would hold him responsible because that one thing he did turned into that huge mess, but all he did was help Kairoz; it wasn’t even his own plan. He was technically a pawn in that whole thing.
He was even sad when Anduin (back in War Crimes) saw what he did as treason, because in his head, it had nothing to do with their friendship and he was only doing what was best for Azeroth.
If he is going to continue the line of Wrynn it’s gotta happen eventually.

And yet lots of people are saying it’s obvious she was introduced specifically for that reason and see no problem with it. I hate that trend with female characters.

oh man. i like how you’re ignoring where wrathion bald faced lied to Anduin (telling him he was behind the Alliance), when really backing Garrosh 100% in the beginning, up until Garrosh messed up.
So much Alliance blood stains Wrathion’s hands.
including Varian’s.

The fact that he still calls her it as an adult is kinda weird. Especially since they’re both sovereign rulers of powerful kingdoms.

He lied to both sides. He let them do their thing hoping one side would win over the other because he didn’t think Azeroth could win against the Legion if there were two factions. After he saw that Garrosh was an idiot, he was hoping that Varian would dismantle the horde, and threw a tantrum when he didn’t.
Anduin knows what he did, and yet he’s still friends with him in War Crimes, after all of this has happened.

I explained in my previous post how that’s not his fault.
