I have been thinking much of Sylvanas and her role in the cosmic cycle of life and death, and how it may be possible that what she is doing, while I concede may be slightly controversial, may in fact be serving a deeper purpose that we are not aware of.
As the souls are poured into the Maw and are torn apart into oblivion, it sounds bad, but we don’t know what true death actually is, there may or may not be something beyond what seems to us, the final death, so perhaps there’s always hope for the unfortunate thing that’s needed to happen for Sylvanas to gain power.
But one thing I’ve been thinking about is the nature of The Eternal Ones, as a Necrlord I’ve been learning much about the Primus and his role in all of this, the truth is he sort out an unknown ally to seek the infinite timeways, who was this unknown ally, we don’t know. The Prmus also saw into the future, and saw that this was coming, and that we’d be here to save Maldraxxus from itself.
So the Attendants in Oribos are either very stupid or a bunch of religious fanatics, OR their faith in the Purpose is 100% correct and everything Sylvanas is doing for the Purpose.
Honestly, I am starting to believe this is all you think about. Do you have a life size Sylvanas body pillow or something?
Yeah, it does sound bad and the fact she did it on a massive scale to gain person power shows just how corrupt she is at her core. There is no redeeming her, the best you can hope for it an interesting exit from the story line and a strong replacement to unit and lead the Forsaken.
There is no final death, they adopted total reincarnation within the cosmos. Souls come into Orbis, they go through the motions, and then spit back out into the galaxy, at least thats what I learned while playing. Maw is for irredeemable souls, Uther cast Arthas into the maw, it could be that it was Arthas that damaged the Arbiter when he passed through it.
I think the helm of domintaion was the reason why arbiter is knocked out. Remember lich king was guarding that gateway between SL and azeroth. I believe silvanas is being used by the jailer and she dont know it. Also they have mentioned the war between ancients. And that was a war between titans and void lords. The jailer may be in contact with void lords witch require souls to manifest.
Arthas didn’t pass through the Arbiter, which is why the Kyrian go “See. This is why we remove your emotional ties to the living world” at Devos. She broke out of the system to do her own thing.
In fact, the Shadowlands might’ve been more ready to handle the jailor’s nonsense if Arthas did pass through, because then the Arbiter would of had all the intel she needed on The Lich King/Helm of Domination
My thoughts are that the jailer represents chaos and free will and the purpose and arbiter represent order and destiny.
We know from SoA that the other faction leaders basically tricked the jailer, which may have meant adding artificial order (probably why oribos life seem so synthetic, they’re just AI npcs made by the others believing in a greater unknown Purpose like robot dogs) and reducing chaos by locking him up in his own realm. He probably served the role of arbiter prior to being tricked (hence the chest situation).
We can be pretty sure that the Runecarver is the Primus stripped of his memories.
We know that Sylvanus was damned to the maw prior to the Arbiter being attacked. We don’t know if that was destiny or prophecy, but she took it as destiny.
We know that she was furious about going there, and bought in to the jailers free will propaganda as a selfish way to save her own skin. Maybe she will argue that free will also benefits others, but her motivation is explicitly selfish. And if you are damming others to the maw, whatever the reason, you are irredeemably evil.
The real question is not if Sylvanus is good or redeemable now, because she is not. The real question is if she was when she saw her future, and whether or not all of Azeroth/universe is pre determined fates.
I think it is not, and she will have an oh #@$& moment of realization just before the Champions send her to her doom.
The reason for that is on the old forum, when you ignored a person it let you find out who their alts were, so they disabled that feature on the forum and that was a violation of privacy.
You can ignore by simply not reading certain threads though.
Sylvanas is working with the Jailer obviously, why would the Jailer be up for souls getting to choose their own afterlives? Wouldn’t all souls and their anima going straight to the Maw just make him stronger?
By 9.3 I definitely agree the Shadowlands will have changed.
Sylvanas is right in the sense that death is scam, you’re never free always a slave.
The jailer belonged to Maldraxxus before the maw, do you think he was locked up simply for being evil? Tbh he was probably annoyed that the shadowlands was always on the defensive but never lead an offensive assault against the void, light or legion that have attacked the shadowlands
I think it is obvious what Sylvanas is serving: herself.
It is pretty obvious what she wants. It’s the same thing many of you want. Her death.
All Sylvanas wants is to die and stay dead and be left alone forevermore. No strings. No ceremonies. She’s passed caring for anything else.
After what Arthas did to her the only thing she lived for was to see his death. Once witnessed all she wanted afterwards was to die and has been working diligently ever since to acquire that prize.
If that’s true, why doesn’t she just jump into the River of Souls and get sent to Torghast with everyone else to have her soul torn to absolute shreds.
