- SRs are transparent. You can see what other people are reserving and then check their gear to see if they are trying to scam you or the raid
- SRs allow you to move your reserve to something that other people don’t want and guarantee you get it when it drops
- SRs force people to pick an item or two they really want and prevent them from rolling on everything
- SRs are fair. If you win the roll you get the loot, it’s simple
- You usually only compete against a small number of people for an item and no one who doesn’t SR it can roll on it
- They are practically automated with addons now and take no time to setup
- No gold required
- No swiping required
- SRs work as guild loot systems very well
- SRs have basically replaced MS > OS raids in most circumstances

SR’s and all that are basically a loot game within game. Sr’s are fun runs when executed properly and its funny to see nerds nerd out on loot
In one way, SR is just like GDKP. You can Soft Reserve any item you want, regardless of your group role. So, if you are tanking, you can SR a DPS or Healing item. This is nice when you have one set, but want to build out another set.
Of course there’s no benefit to this loot system if you don’t need or want anything on the loot table from the raid.

Whenever anyone makes a thread about anything, it’s never about era.
No one plays era. It’s a ghost town.
So this is the Anniversary forum.
This doesn’t say much. Most of the popular threads on this forum are absolutely ridiculous topics that are just trolling.
Is there anything of value being discussed on these forums anywhere? If so, there may be a post here or there, with maybe 1 or 2 replies.
The long-living threads are all just a waste of time. But yeah, you’re right, there are probably a lot more people actively playing Anniversary than Era at the moment, but these forums are not Anniversary forums. Anniversary is moving to TBC soon enough.

Doesn’t really matter what loot system you’re using but yeah, SR’s are pretty straightforward which is why it gets solid endorsements.
The only loot system you can’t use on Anniversary is GDKP and good riddance.
If it wasn’t being abused it would have been an option but…yknow…
Banning a loot system and then creating 50 times more rmt isn’t the win you think it is
