Why so weak?

I hit 60 the day before yesterday after doing just a couple of quests in Ravendreth. It was late and I knew I would need to finish out Ravendreth before I could choose a Covenant so I called it a night.

Yesterday, I spent ALL day doing Ravendreth. It took all day because I died. A lot. “At times it felt like I was being tested, though for what purpose, I cannot say.”

Leveling up 50-59, I breezed through content. Rares, packs of mobs, nothing gave me any issues. If it was close enough for me to tag, I tagged it. The more the merrier. But all that changed once I hit 60. Even mobs with 15k hp took several rotations to take out. If I got 2 or more, my Voidwalker would need constant healing. If a mob aggro’d on me, I took hella damaging.

I’ve never been keen on what’s going on behind the scenes with the systems Blizz has in place, all I know is how it feels on the front end. When things change drastically for no apparent reason.

So is this working as intended? Am I the only one on the struggle bus? This doesn’t feel good at all.

Do you need some help? A veteran player isn’t going to be dying a lot running through these zones. It was the easiest it’s ever been.

So def ask for tips. And warlock got changed a lot so I’d get in touch with the forums with that too.

No, don’t need any help. Didn’t die one time going from 50-59, not even close. I pulled every mob in sight while also killing rares.

All that changed at 60.

Well that’s weird. I mean I made sure to get at least 2-3 dungeon pieces while I leveled to avoid stuff like that from happening - but it’s cuz of experience.

Anyway I think it could be a gear thing? With new ranks to spells and the goodies from your covenant you shouldn’t be dying. I don’t think anything has killed me outside a dungeon yet. Cept for players

Well…umm…we’re sort of incomplete without borrowed powers, and 98% of the playerbase don’t have their best legendaries and HIGH enough soulbinds etc. But look at the bright side, you’re warlock, you have a pet, you’ll do fine in torghast as solo. As a melee class I’m really not jealous of you, I swear.

Please pray for me that I overcome the elite boss at floor 6, thanks.

Pretty much this

I didn’t have Covenants yet. I was finishing out Ravendreth so I could open up Covenants.

The first few quests I did in Ravendreth, the mobs were easy peasy. I hit 60, called it a night, next day I went to finish out the zone and everything was much harder. Even single mobs were like fighting rares. Took about a minute to kill something with 15-20k hp.

Nothing like it was at 59.

Remember how the classic andy’s talked endlessly about there not being any sense of danger in the world? yeah thank those idiots.

There still isn’t though lol…

And op: Id advise to grab that covenant ASAP. Very important. 50-59 you got to use the core covenant abilities. Then you lost them because now they want you to pick. So yeah. You’ll notice a change I’m pretty sure. Good luck

Yeah but 50-59 was cake walk. I felt like I could pull the entire zone it it was possible.

You have to finish all the zones to open up Covenants. That’s my point.

Ok well go ahead and do that…prolly should right?

You get to test out other covenant abilities and then it will help you decide which one best fits your character. That way the next post you make isn’t you complaining you picked the wrong one.

Nah I figured I’ll go through the xpac without them.

Well you came here complaining you’re weak at 60 - you know what you have to do to feel strong - now you’re implying we all got baited into one of your passive aggressive “I don’t like the linear story” rants?

Ugh. Why did I even bother.

As you’re leveling in the expansion, you generally will out gear/power stuff for a while (depending on how good your gear was coming into it) but eventually the mob damage/hp pool curve will catch up to you (maybe 1-2 level before the new cap) and then surpass you once you hit 60.

Once you get some gear from dungeons at 60, it smooths out a bit and then you’ll get back ahead of them

Considering you completely missed the point, I’m wondering the same thing.

What’s the point then?

That he is just upset he can’t pick a covenant when he hits 60?

It’s always the case that mobs at level cap are tuned up, such that a “freshly capped” character will not have the easiest time with them. It’s done that way because if it is not, the mobs are then trivial for all other level cap characters. What you need to do is push through to finish, realizing that it will be harder until you finish and can start gearing a little.

Look at your stats.

All is normal.

Yep. Every level your stat weights will change, and probably 59-60 is the biggest drop off.
