“Companies exist to make money” is not a valid argument, because you can you can use it to argue for literally anything. Eg. “We had to take out that reporter, his story was a threat to our bottom line”
Are you comparing a company putting an item on a store with murdering a member of the press and equating them?

one good complaint about our seemingly innocuous store is how the products are so much more heavily developed compared to ingame things (here, how about 20 recolors)

People are apparently angry that an item is available to purchase with in game gold? Guess we need to get rid of every vendor in game or something.
In game things have tons of development. This is a complaint based on cherry picking what you will compare it to.
Because for some odd reason everything has to be earned for some players vs just simple paying for them i like both to be honest it’s not gameplay based anyways. And to be honest i don’t like this one much i might try for another in the future.But that is subjective of course.
I’ve been waiting weeks for a new six month subscriber offer. They took the old one down a day before I went to resub. But what do we get? Is it another mount? No, its a trasmog made for sheltered 10 year old girls who are seriously into Lisa Frank. Who do they think wants a rainbow pixie outfit ? I’m stunned by the pure shortsightedness of this.
We already paid for the game and a subscription. Its a cash grab.

I don’t dress or act edgy. I even subscribed six months for the mouse mount and ride it non ironically. I JOINED A VULPERA GUILD to get away from edgelords. I don’t even wear sholderpads on most of my characters. But I’m a grown adult. This is just insulting. I"m on MG, if I wanted to pretend I’m a Pixie I’d roll Ally and go to Goldshire.
Now put it in context.
The general consensus on the forums is that the art team does great in game. They have a strong history of making beautiful areas.
If the in game art assets were lacking, you’d have a point. Obviously they have the means to do both. The store items take very little effort/work.
I rather have things in game I can obtain in my paid subscription without shelling out more money, tbh.

its just greed man and its pretty disgusting.
People are upset because there are microtransactions in a sub fee game. Which frankly I understand. Even TOR, which gives the option of FTP, gives you monthly currency for their store if you choose the sub route. Plus it’s dev time being spent in the store and not for things that can be earned in game, which runs contrary to what MMORPGs are suppose to be about. If I like a transmog or mount ,I should be able to earn it playing the game.

Personally I am not bothered by it, because I know I wont buy anything of the sort. I am pretty good at controlling my spending and honestly I am not gonna spend more than my sub amount or a token once in a while.
I can understand the reasons people have against it. They are pretty valid concerns honestly. But getting upset over it? Nah. Its something I find easy to ignore and of course activision/blizzard as a business is gonna look at any way they can to improve their bottom line, no matter how unethical you may find them and I mean, Activision has a reputation for predatory business practices since before they bought out Blizz. . You are responsible for your money, so don’t go giving it to them if you disagree with it.
Most people would tell you, speak with your wallet, don’t buy it. But what other people do though is up to them. How you view it and if you buy into it or not is a personal choice. Welcome to capitalism.
I don’t get it either. This is the WoW forums though, people will take any chance they can get to be negative and whine about anything. No surprise at all.
