Log into WoW to start doing my maw weeklies and I just sat there for like 5 minutes, wondering why I was even bothering to do something so boring and pointless.
Once you kind of enter that headspace, it’s probably time to unsub

I havent even done weeklies in months because theres no point to them for me. I got max rep with Venari prior – why do I need to grind stygia?
I download it 2 days ago and its 10x times better than Wow in almost everything, pve, rpg elements, world, community, crafting, guilds, classes are fun to play
Wow is better in character movement fluidity/targeting and pvp

Idk anymore. Same reason I bother to run over to mission table and send my companions out for a pitiful amount of rewards. I’m just going through the motions
Because the people who troll, just to troll, know that like LBGTQRSTIA threads,
FFXIV triggers people on this forum like no tomorrow. The threads always get the WoW diehards riled up without fail, if you haven’t noticed. Most of the people making these threads probably haven’t even ever played FFXIV. Not to say that tons of people haven’t left WoW for FFXIV, but they most likely aren’t making threads about it here.
WoW’s in a bad place and FFXIV’s doing great and it leads to a lot of resentment and anger that the trolls enjoy tapping into.

Dancer/gunbreaker 60
DoL/DoH 80 - all jobs.
Mateus currently has 32 groups in the party finder for data center, 3 in world. The top 8 are gilseller spam, with the first one being aurum vale someone trying to get “glower” for blue mage.
Now that we’re done with that first bit…

I played through the game. I was fine with the concepts generally, though I do understand the complaints against it.
What I’m telling you is that people here don’t tend to enjoy tedium or feeling like the rewards are worthless or their time is being wasted. IE boring. That’s FF14’s major problem right now.
3 characters or 3 jobs?
It’s actually very difficult for some players to just leave a game they have so much time and great memories of.
Like many others I have been playing wow for a long time, but actually gave FF14 a try last night even though it didn’t really look like my type of game. I think I need to give it some time because it seems to start of dreadfully slow. I hear it gets better though. Also I’ll need to find out about addons, I need a clique or something to bind my mouse buttons.
I just want wow to be Great, I don’t want to play other games. But 7-8 months of a drought at the beginning of a new wow cycle is pretty rough. Then 9.1 brings what? I also wish Wow would rediscover its roots that made it so damn additive to so many in the first place. Being an MMORPG first and not esport wannabe.

I think the entire WoW vs. XIV argument is silly anyways. Both games are way more similar than they are different, albeit with their own strengths and weaknesses.
Personally I mainly play XIV now, but I still come back for new WoW xpacs for a while just to see how the game is.
People act like you have to pick sides or something but you don’t. You’re allowed to have an interest in both games.

He was the hero all along, trying to free us from addiction. By making really really bad half baked design decisions. One of the most flip floppy designers ever, or the most dishonest. Depending on whether you think they ever intended to go the directions they claim, only to backpedal into some weird middle ground that doesn’t make anyone happy.

I feel like more people just need to learn the virtue of “Play something else while you wait for content so you dont burn out.” Thats what I did with FF14 when their patches content is done within 1-2 days.

I haven’t a clue. Been watching some streams of it and it basically just looks like a WoW clone with about 9000x more cut scenes and text boxes to read. Something that I just cannot stand.
