Why Smolderon?

Why did Smolderon betray us like this? Did we not give him the position of lord of the firelands? Is there any information why he did this?

I believe Fyrakk convinced him that he could have the Dream if he helped him. It was an obvious lie and it’s beyond me why Smolderon didn’t just turn on Fyrakk and stop killing us in the fight when Fyrakk told him his motives.

None whatso ever. I suppose they want us to believe that the FIre elementals are inherently full of fury and destruction and will always try to destroy Life.

I forgot who this was, was he in cata?
cool boss fight btw

Shaman class hall campaign. Their goal is to unite the elemental lords. :scroll::robot:

When it came down to it, we helped Smolderan because he hated mortals less than his rival. While we did work with us, there was nothing stating that his stance on mortals had ever changed.

Now it’s clear that he had some type of deal with Fyrakk, which he learned too late that Fyrakk had no intention of honoring. Meanwhile I’m just stuck at his audacity that I should be honored by being killed by the very weapon I gave him.

Whats the lesson? Don’t trust fire elementals, in fact, don’t trust elements at all, say no to shamanism.

I feel like people forget that Azerothian elementals are not now, nor have they ever been our friends. Therazane worked with us because there was a bigger threat. Neptulon is a weirdo, but still not our friend. And every other big elemental has tried to kill us at one point or another, or at a minimum expressed their contempt for us.

Azerothian elementals will work with us when all our interests align, but expecting any of them to forfeit a good offer based on some past alliegance isn’t really a good expectation to have.

So why did Smolderon try to kill us?

Because he was offered power by a new ally, and we were trying to stop that.

Maybe Smolderon liked being enslaved by the Old Gods, and Fyrrak seemed like a good way to get back to how things used to be during the Black Empire? I mean, it’s no secret Iridikron is working with the Void.

Because both of the Firelord candidates were awful mortal haters, but the Earthen Ring was in such a rush to find a new one when they should have just waited for a better job applicant.

So did you guys play all the class halls or dare I say, covenants? Because there seems to be a bunch of characters only in these side quests like Xalatath that everyone seems to know but I never heard of

Yeah, HAHA!! You’d have to be really stupid to go and try to level up nine different alts before that got implemented, HAHA!! Like, especially if you were doing it after the patch notes for the next patch were out and you knew, you knew all your current efforts would be worthless in a month of so!! HAHAHA!!

Ahahahaaa!!!

And even then, she started off as an antagonist since we killed her daughter. As she believed that we did it for loots. When in reality she [Therazane’s daughter] was allied with the Old Gods and not allowing her lovers soul to find peace in death.

We had to earn the trust of her sons one by one. Starting off with the only one who had some common sense.

… are you my guild leader?

iirc Fyrakk lied to Smolderon, saying that mortals wanted him caged like Ragnaros was (not sure if this is referring to the actions of the Old Gods or the Titans). Smolderon didn’t want that and agreed to the alliance against the mortal races (though it begs the question of why Smolderon believed Fyrakk’s words).

Towards the end of the boss fight, when Fyrakk refuses Smolderon’s demand for help and says he’d rather see Smolderon die, Smolderon angrily calls him a ā€œdeceiverā€ and promises to get him after defeating the adventurers.

I do not think so, but I bet me and your guild leader would be horrible together, always enabling each other to make poor mental health choices in a video game.

ā€œHey, Alynsa, I know the next patch will have a much easier gear-up system for alts, and it’s only two weeks away, so what do you think of me gearing my alt up right now and spending 12+ hours a day for the next two weeks, every single day, to get not even close to what I’ll get in a single 8 hour day in the new content?ā€

ā€œI think you need to do this, but only after you help me farm some BOE green for my transmog set that has a 2% drop chance off this rare mob on a random spawn timer every three days and with a very large patrol path. I know it sells for only 10 gold on the AH, but I think it makes the most sense to have spent the last six months hunting the rare for 12 hours a day, every day!!ā€
