Why Shadowlands Sucks

I love Shadowlands, I think it is almost one of the best expansions they ever made. I love the content, I love the dungeons, I love the raids. The problem for me is how low progression brick walls before you have to start dealing with toxic insane morons. I want more game before getting bogged down in the shartshow. Like, let me gear up slowly over time to heroic raid level gear in the finders, why is that so hard? I’m never going to want to deal with the people infesting high tier content, so I have nothing to do but go play something else when my content ends in a few weeks into a patch.

i like the expansion. only expansion i didnt like was WOD

I like shadowlands alot as far as pvp goes and pve sooo… game plays fast and fun. Sub Aoe is evolving as a playstyle in M+ and all three rogue specs are viable in pvp.

Nobody is untouchable and all sorts of different specs and comps can be played.

I mean lets be real here there is outlaw rogues on the ladder…

Anecdotal evidence, but that says the game is relatively balanced to me.

I just returned to give it another go and I can say that this game really sucks now. I’ve played since TBC and I don’t get this game now. Content is boring as a solo player, but I have to much of a life to dedicate to a raiding guild. Seems like there’s no one on, Torghast and the Maw are my least favorite places ever… I don’t even know why I resubbed at this point. I’d honestly rather go back to Classic myself, that’s if I even decide to stay subbed at this point.

Game died after WotLK for me. Cata was good don’t get me wrong, I know a lot of people who loved Cata, but that’s when I lost the love for the game.

Do you guys just scan the forums for SL hate, just so you can be the first to defend it?

This is true.

Do you see the irony in making this reply to a comment I made in July? Probably not.

I don’t see the irony, your comment hasn’t aged well, and the necro isn’t my fault.

With all the systems this expansion has been engaging, has it been fun however, uh no…

I’m sorry you don’t think someone thinking they speak for everyone hasn’t ‘aged well’. Merry Christmas to you.

Oh… lots of reasons that all boil down to:
Their vision isnt based on fun.

Probably because they don’t listen to feedback during beta, and the current Dev team thinking they are always right. So guess the short answer is, ego problems with the current Dev team.

Couldn’t agree more - Shadowlands bores the h*ll out of me.

Well if by “us” you mean the most vocal people on the forums, then yes. If by “us” you mean the player base in general, then no, we have no idea how they feel about Shadowlands.

The only way we would know that is if someone conducted a poll based on an unbiased random sample of the players and no one knows how to do that.

I’m still baffled how they took the lessons of Legion, and we ended up with something like SL. Aside from the absolute terrible writing with Sylvanas and the Jailer, the overall gameplay and world just FEELS flat.

I’d also say forcing people to constantly shuffle through Oribos for EVERYTHING is really annoying, I’d like to be able to travel around the various lands without hitting a loading screen constantly.

Your assuming that people left because they didn’t like BFA or SL. It’s also possible that people left because WOW is a 20 year old game in an industry where 5 years is middle aged and 10 years is an antique.

There are hundreds of new games based on new technology coming out each year so the competition is really heating up. Also, people are moving more to mobile where WOW is more of a big screen computer game. There are lots of reasons why people may be leaving WOW.

And in the end, despite people leaving, many gamming magazines still point to WOW as the granddaddy of MMOs and claim it’s still in the top 5 in players.
