There’s quite a difference between bag sorting and LFR. Sorry you can’t see that.
Blizzard have already drawn the line. Interface-only QOL changes that have no impact on gameplay would be a-okay!
If only there were evidence of a slippery slope in retail or something.
If only correlation actually implied causation.
Not to mention bags are smaller anyway, so there is less to sort.
“Asks for something that wasn’t in Vanilla”
“Tells people not to tell them they are wrong”
Well then.
Your highest slot bag in classic is 18. Not really that hard to manage.
Other conveniences such as auto-completion of names or quickly clearing a mailbox have been left in. This seemed an easy enough call given that someone could create an add-on to do the very same thing, and we felt those sorts of conveniences didn’t impact the fundamental “classic” experience.

-Ah yes, because moving my mount in my bag is such intense, intriguing gameplay. So keeping a mount in my bag should be done, but you keeping your own bags sorted is different somehow?
-LFG does not affect game play in anyway. banter is not gameplay, therefore LFG affects nothing gameplay wise. By your own words that should be good to go.
-Flying alters the pace of the game in terms of traveling only, but doesn’t affect any other gameplay in any way. So it should be fine.
-Transmog doesn’t affect gameplay in any way, only how my armor looks. How does that affect gameplay? My game plays the exact same when I transmog.
…that’s still not a blanket statement. It’s a couple of examples.
Maybe the developers feel that your server-side bag sorting does impact gameplay in some way? This goes back to my earlier point. No one here can address the reasons the devs did what they did. We can guess, sure. But guessing is pretty lame when you’re looking for concrete answers or, if it’s as it seems, you just want people to agree with you.
Polite as you are asking for it is not being redpectful of the spirit of classic.
I’m sorry if I gave that impression. I’m not seeking endorsement. I’m honestly looking for a good reasoning as to why that is. If the devs did conclude that bag sorting is impactful, gameplay or development wise, I’m all for to keep it out. I just would like to know why that is.
imagine writing paragraphs about bag sorting
Ya, no changes but there are tons of changes. Even the night skybox is different. It’s the version added later on around Cata to make Night, bright. The way NPCs spawn before you as you traverse the land is different.
Point it is, under the hood, there have been tons of changes, this is one of them that has no merit to comprising the spirit of classic.
