Firstly, what does Raider IO do? Simple, a form of ingame score system that measures someone’s skill. You see high IO, you feel more confident to accept said person on group.
Simply, it works. It makes things so much better and easier.
It’s not a bad addon, in fact it’s a good thing, always has been a good thing. The problem isnt Raider IO, its the PVE community getting overly toxic(ironically PvP is more friendly now)
Sometimes the problem isn’t blizzard or addons, it’s the actual community.
Radier IO is an addon which a noble purpose in mind that is being abused by the community and turned into a toxic fest so severe it screws with the experience of the game.
What i’m trying to say is, the community DESERVES to have something taken from them as punishment for toxicity.
In BFA, Raider IO worked fine. Getting into low keys was easy&upping your score and get added into 9s the next week if you put in the effort and higher after, worked as intended. For one simple reason
The community wasnt being toxic and declining anyone who isn’t top 1#.
if you had a reasonable score, you were added simple as.
A noble addon with a noble purpose, now being bastardized by toxicity.
People always complain about raider.io but the problem isn’t the app, it’s the players. You’re not entitled to get into any group especially if you’re applying for something multiple key levels above your current completed key of what they’re looking for.
The biggest thing is when you list a 10+ key of any type you literally have 50+ dps sign ups in a matter of minutes.
The IO score systems protect the person inviting players and not the person joining. If you put in the effort, you will have no trouble pugging raids and dungeons. If you don’t put any effort as in you cleared +3 and you expect a person with a +9 to invite you, sorry Karen your not getting the invite.
abuse? Doubt it. I think I find it the opposite way. The angry people just are angry because we finally find a way to put a line infront of you that you can’t jump over while most of us work our way up to it
Feel free to look it up around season 1 of BFA. You’re so mistaken
It’s really no different from “link ur chieve bro”. There will always be some metric people use to judge the skill of others. Fortunately there will always be ways to work around it if guilds/friends arent an option.
You want to know how people were vetted before groups back before Warcraftlogs, before raider io, before gearscore, before the Armory?
You were judged based on an inspection of the gear you were wearing and what guild you were in. Good gear and a reputable guild? You’re in. Good gear but your guild was notorious for having griefers or children? Pass.
There has never been a time in this game where some metric was not used to judge you prior to starting serious end game content.
Good players don’t complain about raider io. Bottom line.
No, i need RaiderIO so that i know whether or not you are going to completely ruin the next 40 minutes of my gametime or not. I have the right to be happy too, not just you being free to leech off of me without being any good at the game, making me do the work of both of us while you collect the rewards. Go play with people on your own skill level, and you let me enjoy my time too
Intention does not make something. RIO is being severely manipulated adding to the toxic community. The community is the problem, but IO feeds it.
People bail on keys because a completed key, failed time shows up in IO, but if you leave instead of completing, it does not show.
RIO needs to track completion % that way people know how often a player leaves. Completion % would be a great indicator as to how skewed a player’s score is. Without this, RIO is a useless, meaningless number.
