Why Raiderio is nothing to worry about it classic!i

Seen a few posts on this addon and I’d like to clear up why this is a total non-issue in classic wow.

Some facts for those that don’t play or misunderstand the addon.
1.It functions off the armory and takes your highest mythic + “scores” and adds them together
2. It takes your highest raid achievements off armory and puts them in one place.
3.It takes the ilvl of your gear and puts them in one place.

Now lets look at how those 3 points would work in classic.

  1. There is no mythic+ in classic and no achievements. So the first part doesn’t work.
  2. There is no achievements to track making this a non-issue.
  3. There is no ilvl on gear in classic that is visible to players and with how “wonky” itemisation is putting a flat number on player value is stupid at best and down right moronic at worst.

So in summary, Raidio just won’t work and people who do use it can and should be mocked relentlessly. At worst we could see the return of the gearscore addon or the wtfismygearscoredotcom website return but anyone using these as a measure of worth should be mocked relentlessly.

TLDR: People are getting their nickers in a bunch over nothing.

This is a perfect description of the addon to start with, and yet people still use it.

More importantly there will be community, Raider IO was bred out of a type of game where no one knows each other so you have to rate people by what they’ve completed.

Right now people don’t actually use it for that functionality since it’s a default blizz setting if you try to join a group,

There’s a simple fix that works in retail AND classic: Join a guild and make friends. Don’t pug raids. Dungeons are trivial if you have half competent people. And you’ll remember the potatoes and not run with them again - yay for no cross realm BS

I was not describing solely its use as an ilvl metric.

The addon and its implied mechanics, as a whole, in all of its parts and functions, is accurately described by your quote there.
