So i’ve been playing for a few years and when i’ve had to play alts I enjoy myself…it’s when I have to play my main that the un-fun part happens. I am set to do Mythic 15’s, I PUG groups cause all my friends either don’t play or quit wow. I main a 224 ilvl Ret Paladin and trying to PUG a 15 that i’m more than geared for is the most depressing thing in my life. It takes me literal HOURS to get into a 13 key let alone 15’s which are what i need. I have NW 15 done and timed. The thing about raider IO is that it allows people to get carried through and get SUPER high IO then turn right around and gate keep people by constantly berating and insulting them for not having as high an IO as they do. Well no crap, how can I or anyone get the IO rating if we don’t get invited? This often has lead me to want to quit wow or pray someone at blizzard does away with the Raider IO addon or makes some kind of LFG change to select what difficulty of mythic they want and it would auto fill you with other people looking for that same dungeon strength.
You’re going to be really disappointed in about a month or so.
This doesn’t work when any form of difficulty or requirement to pay attention becomes involved.
Also, as the poster above me stated, Blizzard is actually bringing more of an IO system into the game rather than aiming to get rid of it.
IO is a tool. If it wasn’t that, it’d be denying you for not being FOTM. Or some other reason. There has always been an arbitrary way to weed out players. Not to mention you’re a DPS, so people are likely to choose other options (battle rez, lust, FOTM) over you.
Your best odds are honestly starting your own group, or trying to find a guild.
Blizzard is giving Raider.IO their stamp of approval in about 6 weeks.

I found it easier to get into groups late evening and night. Peeps from Azralon and Rag tend to be more lenient with 15 experience as long as your item level and 10+ count is good which for you is on par. Plus less people queue so better chances.
good news! they’re doing away with the addon.
Why do you people always act like everyone who declines you or has higher io got carried?
Man I didnt read that they stopped letting you put a group together with your own key. Must have missed the patch note.

This is why you are not invited. Your ilvl is not special when 40 applicants of more experience and at minimum as good gear are applying.

So you are telling us that you wait hours to get into a group, instead of starting your own? You can be in and out of a M+ with your own key in 40 minutes, including the time to form it. You are creating your own problems by waiting around. At this point of the expansion, there are many more experienced players than you applying to the same keys.
Tell me why would a random player trust you, who has little to no experience with +15s, over someone else who has timed 20 of them.
You can only get carried so far. KSM ends around 1300-1350. Players who are 1600 did not get carried.
You literally have something in your bag. Use it.
I’d rather take a ilvl 215 who has more experience than a 226 that doesn’t.
The issue isn’t raider io, it’s that there aren’t enough tanks and healers for the masses of dps players trying to do content.
Yep it sucks … and now its part of the game. The fan boys can cone along too though in a few years to whatevers next as blizz keeps driving nails in its own coffin to its majority player base…
Im kinda grumpy with many er most of sl… theres about 2 people left from a large core i play with regularly or so, one is very very casual and the other is having a hard time just logging on lately which really sucks
By running and pushing your own key. I’m one key away from KSM. No one in my regular group has the key I need. So we’re just going to keep pushing our keys until we get lucky and get the last one we need. That builds experience (shows timed +15s on rio), fills my vault, and keeps me from stupidly sitting around for
waiting and wasting time.
This is just a weird take, though somewhat humorous in its irony.
