He’s right though, why are you talking in such a condescending tone? If, for example, a gallon of milk is X bucks but next year it’s X+25%, that’s more money you gotta use for milk that won’t be available for other trivial things, such as a WoW expansion.

They’re offering this because they know there are people who want to pay for it.

Also, the demand as the expansion draws closer helps them predict what the interest will be on release. As well as how many bling premium offers they need to make to get the numbers they need.

Look at how many people want to pay for early access that will probably play as well as a pre-alpha. Why pay testers when you can get customers to pay you extra?

You have that backwards. As inflation rises, the relative cost of the game lowers. The WoW sub has only gotten cheaper over time simply because of inflation. Blizzard wants our money now before it loses value.

Did you seriously not know how inflation works?

It’s literally a process in which the dollar gets more and more devalued.

Granted I’d hope inflation wouldn’t continue to spike THAT much in a year…but it is an election year so…that tracks.

Anyhow, as others have said, it’s usually because:

  1. They want the bonuses now
  2. They don’t want to forget to pre-order it later for the bonuses.

Personally I’m a bit bummed we aren’t getting Class unlocks for Dracthyr with the pre order. Since SL pre-order gave DKs to ARs and Pandas.
