It shouldn’t
the player show the problem, blizzard did creat it.
look at all the restriction blizzard are doing right now.
drinking water nerfed, because stupid reason.
conduit restriction, because blizzard fear people would change them at each boss fight.(only the top world first raider do that).
convenant swap. because blizz dont want us to convenant swap freely.
and i can go on.
those change in blizzard mind should only effect the called elite.
the reality affect 75% of the player base.
like convenant will affect 75% of the player base.
blizzard cater so much and try to restrict the top player so hard that he ripple effect on all segment of the player.
did you think the pro would stop if restricted? no, they would still be doing what they have done in the past suffer through it.
where do you think the problem will occur on the rest of the player base, they will suffer and quit because they are too much restricted.
Preach is right 100%
dunno about tabletob, but in crpgs based on dnd mages are completely overpowered and can do solo runs against anything. And have like 50 active spells + scrolls
While I agree with the premise of your post I think saying one does bigger numbers is a very simple way of looking at things. Not all of them do the same effects and play better in certain situations. I would say someone looking to having the greatest power versus appearance or utility is a choice in itself.
Also DKs get slappy hands, like cmon dude… slappy hands.
I will be playing Kyrian because I only play Paladin and that’s the only Covenant that makes sense to me. I don’t care if it’s the worst numbers wise, I just like the look of it.
This is where im at with all of this garbage.
Nothing would make me happier in WoW than if they came out and just announced they are scrapping covenant abilities, conduits, soul binds, legendaries and we are just getting tier sets and a new talent row.
So much time is being wasted trying to fix all of these systems and so much arguing online for this balance nightmare Blizzard is putting in.
Its not called being special. Its called balance.
And yes. Classes should be balanced.
And yes it is called balance. Classes should all bring something. We can be understanding in that it is an impossible job. But to write 60 page thesis on classes shouldnt have to be balanced is silly.
Basically this… If class A does double the damage of class B, and class B brings no needed utility… there is no reason at all to bring class B. Particularly in this day and age when even with all of our out of game tools, the bosses still take hundreds of pulls to down.
Wanna go lolret or feral in classic? I personally don’t care… that’s just a question of how fast do we want to kill the boss. Want to bring that level of set back to M N’zoth prog? I’d like to welcome you to the bench. We’ll get you in once we have it on farm.
I agree OP
Be Gone 1%! Go play Overwatch! Maybe they will add raids if you go ask.
Legendaries in SL are mostly fine. Acquisition is much better than it was in Legion, there’s fun content built around it and you get the “build your own legendary” feel which involves profession in a major way.
It doesn’t feel grindy. Legion’s Legendaries had a single issue : acquisition. Once that was resolved, I don’t think anyone hated them. Most people enjoyed swapping them around like they were talents. Which is what they ultimately were : a class talent.
Answer to covenant powers, get rid of them. Make it so when activate your shadowlands “covenant power/look” it makes it so your skills look different. Boom people can look diff without adding more issues.
I bet you are the kind of person that thinks no one chose not to work due to the 600 extra COVID payment (because they could make the same or more) or that welfare programs can not be an incentive to NOT work.
Not everyone is motivated to do better all the time. Most will take free stuff though. I would argue its less than half the population that really tries more than half the time. It is why Universal Basic Income would never work. This is not Star Trek…
Nobody is unique and special because we have 4 tiers of the same raid content everyone just wears the same thing just with different IL, its the same with M+ same items just different IL. its the same with spells, everyone has a movement speed increase, everyone has a damage mitigation spell, everyone has a heal. unique abilities get homogenized like heroism and given to multiple different classes.
I could go on and on but the way current wow is setup nobody will ever be unique again.
The changing of professions made sense b/c it was extremely daunting to start over and have to go from vanilla to the current expansion to level a profession, that was grindy as hell.
Their attempt to lock covenant abilities to SL actually fell in line with the theory that SL was going to be a “time skip” if you will, that when its over and we get back to azeroth, A LOT of time would have passed than what the player character experienced. So if true, would make sense from a lore perspective.
Making each expansion their own “unique” game is a road to ruin. It’ll get to the point that people won’t even play until months after its been out to see if its even worth playing. Which will devastate their bottom line.
What are you talking about? I think you should earn your reward in a game rather than have it handed to you.
Yeah he is Alex Afrasiabi the Creative Director for WoW
your $.02 is trash. lol.
The bad thing about legendaries acting as class talents is your character won’t feel as it should until you get the right ones, and then you lose them with the next expansion. It’s not too bad for a main but is sucks for alts. I haven’t been looking too close into SL, been trying not to spoil myself too much but I hope you’re right that they won’t be too grindy to get. I would still much rather have a new talent row. Other than questing I don’t want to grind anymore for my abilities.
They’re made in parts : professions make stat gems and base items, and then you need only find a compatible legendary power for the slot you want to build. The legendary powers have fixed drops, so you can target what you want. Some are rep items, some are dungeon drops, some drop from raids, etc…
And you can sorta pick the slot. Most legendary powers can be fitted to 2 different slots, and of course, when you assemble the Legendary in Torghast, you pick the stats on it.
The RNG on drops is much less than it was in Legion, and a good portion is gathering mats or buying them from other crafters, so you sort of get the feel you’re working towards them.
It’s not perfect, but the system is much better than Legion’s.
