Why play a tinker and/or an Ogre?

Don’t we have enough unbalanced classes ?

How is ogre a class?

Idk, i think a tinker class and a playable orge race has a lot of potential, I see what your talking about, I’m not confident in blizz’s ability to o anything right at this point but still I like the potential of the two

I think Orges are evil - haven’t seen them in a friendly way. They’re apparently trying to summon a dragon on some unknown Island.

Tinker I haven’t heard of but sounds cool.

There are ogres who have been working alongside goblins for a loooong time as well as random ogres that have helped the horde in situations throughout the game, there could be way to implement them through the goblins i think, but overall they are mostly evil yeah

I meant race sry

Ahh maybe I missed that one. I did exiles reach then battle for Azeroth levelling

Just found this on google .There is a lot

How many classes and races are there in WoW?
Class, race and class roles. Choice of class is limited by choice of race, with certain classes only available to certain races. There are 194 combinations currently available on the live realms.

Ogres and tinkers have more lore in game than Void Elves. You see them all over the place. Tinkering is a major part of gnome and goblin culture. Ogres, meanwhile, have been members of the Horde for years. I don’t recall which clan, though.

Stonemaul - based out of Dustwallow.

Problem with the Ogres at this point is… they’ve been supersized beyond playability. If they’d remained Tauren sized that’d be one thing, but you’d either be stuck with a character too large to operate in the world, or be stuck playing a shrunk down, pygmy ogre.

Ogre (but like, comparatively really tiny) doesn’t really have the demand to justify its inclusion and would just be a disappointment.

Tinkerers are fine though.

Thanks!

The first time I really remember encountering ogres was in the northeastern section of Loch Modan. They felt so big and they were really tough because they were elites. This was way back in Vanilla so I was really confused when I went by years later to find them really small. lol

Size is certainly an issue but I remember in BfA coming across some ogres, just north of Fort Daelin in Stormsong Valley, that were part the Venture Company. Pretty sure they were smaller than a Tauren, but not comically small like the ones I recall from Loch Modan.

I agree, size is definitely one of the larger things standing in the way of making them playable. I don’t think I’d want something super tiny and silly looking because as you said it would be a disappointment.

People like it when things are both new and unbalanced. DKs were like that on launch and that was the best expansion ever. I’m sure many would say that DH was the best part of legion. If it’s OP and new, people won’t just be willing to play it, they’ll be willing to come back to do so.

Ogres are like onions, they have layers! They can be a class and a race if they want :onion:

Ogre is kind of a power fantasy I guess, big strong and brutal.

Tauren are big but only Grimtotem are eager for war, orcs love battle but are smaller.

I play an Ogre cause I like ugly. I play a Hunter because I like “quickkill” abilities.

I think it is seriously unlikely either will even be introduced because Ogres are too big and Tinkers would gut engineering.

As to why would someone player them: Some people would find it fun to role-play a big, dumb character like Lunk. And the sky is the limit for entertaining talents for Tinkers.

I know this because I have ask the same question on both and been enthusiastically given these reasons.

Personally, outside of not having real High Elves, I am happy with the races and classes offered and, in fact, I would ‘prune’ a couple of the allied races, reducing them to just customizations.

Because both are awesome!

Tinkers were balanced herors in WC3. It should work.
Super cool for Goblins and Gnomes.

Ogres would be a race (or AR), not a class. Works too. Give us Ogres!

Some are as smal as Tauren. Kultirians also work. It’s fine.
They are an OG Horde race.

There is a Horde Ogre innkeeper in the Revantusk village.

In fact the Stonemaul Ogres and more are part of the Horde.

For tinker, I am beyond bored with all the current classes. The game doesn’t need a new class but I sure do. And tinker sounds fun.

As for ogre, I dunno. Not something I’d do, honestly. But, at least new races are mostly cosmetic and don’t require as much tuning. So, I’m all for new races, even ones I wouldn’t play. Though… more races would really require more character slots.

Blizz has already done that, so no big deal there.
