Why people say it is difficult to find teams for Rated BG and Arena? Also, here is 9.2 Epic BG Protocol

Dear Folks,

I don’t get it, a lot of people complain about huge item level disparity and I ask them why, they say it is difficult to find teams for Rated BG and Arena due to one or multiple reasons listed below:

  1. I am super scared to fight high item level players. Those high item level players destroy me super fast so I am scared.
  2. A lot of teams are looking for high rating players, this pretty much shuts the door for low ranting players.
  3. No one wants to do Rated BG and Arena so no teams are listed to play those. This comes out from Kitanana and I know she’s lying.
  4. I don’t want to join YOLO because they lose, lose, lose, lose and lose and I will never get rating because rating advancement needs victories.
  5. I don’t want to go on Discord and let other people hear my terrible voice.

I know the above are simply excuses because Timmys, the people who want the best gear without committing to the PVP rating grind, control the narratives on WoW BG Forum and they simply just want the candy handed to them without dropping a sweat.

Okay, now onto a separate issue, that is, gatekeeping Epic BG. In another thread I mentioned in 9.1, only 35k or item level 200 could join Epic BG as a PVP protocol. For 9.2, this Epic BG protocol requirement is now changed to 45k hp or item level 210.

I had a dream last night that I predicted within 48 hours after this thread was posted, my critics such as Doors and Swghoulz would come here and say oh, you don’t have rating, don’t lecture us about this issue. Below is a conversation in my dream. Let’s denote Doors and Swghoulz to Andy, I will tell you why I used the name Andy in a second.

Me: Sir and Ma’am, how come undergeared players can join Epic BG? They’re surely not prepared to play Epic BG.
Andy: Because this is a game and any BG and Arena shouldn’t be gatekept.
Me: Okay, fair enough, Sir and Ma’am, would you want to have them on your Rated BG and Arena teams?
Andy: Heck no, we will never group with them.
Me: Why not? They’re also paid subscribers.
Andy: They’re trash, their gear is trash, having them on my team will bring a lot of burden to teammates, when opposing team seems undergeared players, they just mercilessly attack them. Also, we want to have advance rating so we need to win, so we don’t want trash players on our team, they will slow us all down.
Me: But you said you don’t want the gatekeeping protocol, so you want them to play any BGs and Arenas, but at the same time, you don’t want them to be on your teams, kinda hypocrite, you know.
Andy:

Then I woke up and before Andy could reply. Now Andy is a terminology describing players being hypocrites, in this case, they accept undergeared players but don’t want them to be on their teams due to their undergearness. In the other words, they don’t want PVP gatekeeping but at the same time, they want to gatekeep undergeared players from their teams. Pretty hypocrite, you know.

This guy wants to gatekeep people from doing random BGs, and somehow we’re the bad guys. Lol

Didn’t you make this same post a few months ago?

We still need “permission” to queue epic BGs? Thanks for the heads-up…

Thank god I meet the requirement for epic battlegrounds. I couldn’t sleep at night otherwise.

I wish I had taken a screen shot of OP doing 125k total damage on a Warlock during an IoC. Lol

He expects people to be Rival geared to do random BGs but has no idea where his buttons are…

Says lil Timmy warlock with 0 rated games played (in any bracket, on any of his 6 lvl 60s).

Looks like Lil Timmy Warlock isn’t happy being a Timmy, and wants to be an Andy…

Lmao

Hi Ma’am,

Yes, that was for 9.1 and we are moving to 9.2 now, so a new protocol is needed.

Only Idun and one other character meet this requirement. The rest do not.

I sleep decent at night, except when my dreams are about running around not-really-NYC with Hazbin Hotel characters who keep short-changing the buses.

Can someone please explain this drivel of a post?

OP makes posts all the time demanding for a required ilvl to queue random BGs/EBGs, gets called dumb by everyone, then disappears for weeks before making another cooked post. Basically.

@OP (and anyone who agrees)

Just so know, gate keeping behind ratings is why we have so many under geared players. It has created a significant gear gap between rated and nonrated players. Which, in turn, has lead many frustrated players to abandon PvP. It has NOTHING to do with feeling entitled or looking for handouts.

Plus P2W carries so people that dont want to work for it, got there by paying IRL money via the token. A lot of these players never actually did the grind.

ngl this made me chuckle as I read it

How about instead of punishing new players for not having gear, blizz just scales gear below 210 (or whatever ilvl is appropriate) to that minimum ilvl. There was a system like that in WoD which would scale questing greens to a min ilvl to help the initial power gap.

So, OP, did you play previous expansions with different approaches to gearing?

Hi Sir,

The last expansion I played was The Classic when we had Rank 1 to 14 (High Warlord). I achieved Rank 13 Warlord on my frost mage but was unable to get to High Warlord due to inhumane competition on my server (Spinebreaker, US West).

To get from Rank 13 to 14, the players must play between 20 and 30 matches everyday and win at least 90% for 30 days straight. Even if you achieved that, there was only a selection of players, I believe it was 20, every week that they can be elevated from Warlord to High Warlord. But servers back then were a lot more populated than today, on my server we had 50,000 active players every night and between 200 and 300 WSG matches running.

Back in The Classic PVP, everyone had to be PVP fit, aka good gear, in order to be selected to join PVP groups for WSG. If you didn’t have good gear, then you could only do dungeons and raids. Unlike today, people took PVP really seriously back then, we even have players quit their day jobs just to get to Rank 14.

My conclusion is the PVP today is so relaxing that people just queue up Epic BG with no gear, I could queue up any of my toons with only item level 113 and have my team carry me to victory. This has to stop so gatekeeping is needed.

those people get killed by passive AoE in the opening slavo.

40k hp rogue here. Can confirm. I need to stand far away lmao.

Hi Sir,

Okay, in a few hours, the 9.2 Epic BG Protocol will be restricted enforced so when I get into an Epic BG, I will check each player and if the player’s hp is below 45k hp, I will peacefully remind him that he or she cannot play Epic BG due to undergearness.

I have also prepared a Google Spreadsheet that I record the players who refuse to obey the protocol. So the players who are spotted complying with the protocol 5 times, everytime I log on to WoW I will search their names before matches and remind them to gear up at Zereth Mortis.
