Why do you play WoW when there are comparable free games on the market?
I guess WoW has the best instanced content but other than that I don’t see any reason to pay for WoW over something like ESO, SWTOR , or GW2 which you can play for free just fine. The instanced content isn’t as good but it’s digestible.
I’m currently subbed to WoW because I sometimes like it’s PvP but IDK if it’s worth it anymore. Outside of PvP WoW is a terrible game for my playstyle. Crap content, crap rewards, boring gameplay. I think I’m done with shadowlands… not sure if I’m gonna be playing the next xpack or not. I might check it out for a month or so but I’ll most likely go back to a free alternative.

I like the game. I have many friends with whom I play the game with. It’s that simple.

Those “free games” will end up costing you to spend more that you would for playing wow. Also those “free games” tend to be garbage.

for me only thing keeping me is the sad thing that i regret that i subbed for 6 months for the mount plus my game time was ending in about a month. if not for that i’d probably would of been gone.
it’s not like WoW is terrible imo it’s just the content rn. my taste is basically like vanilla leveling experience but with retail story progression. if they actually added say LFG tool to classic i’d likely play classic as i have to rely on pugging for my raids due to where i live and work schedule. im so behind in shadowlands content though that i try not to have a negative opinion on it thus why im trying to eventually get into SL content again and have my own personal valid opinion
Because of what was WoW in Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos, and WC3: The Frozen Throne.
WC3: Reforged doesn’t exist to me. That tripe is failed trash.
The problem is that since 2004, Blizzard has largely taken WoW in an overall direction that has driven away more customers than it has generated since the beginning.
What Blizzard does with 10.0 could well make or break WoW as an IP.
Even with the MS buy, 2023 is when the deal is final.
Until then, there is NO promise of Blizzard making ANY changes to themselves or WoW.

Doesn’t change the fact most of them are pay 2 win and hot garbage. I don’t play them for that reason.

No. 2: The various traditional fantasy races
No. 3: The various traditional class fantasies
No. 4: The immersiveness of the earlier expansions
No. 5: The stories of the earlier expansions
No. 6: The NPC interactions of the earlier expansions

I play because Azeroth will to this day be my home, Generic answer I know.
It’s truly a Lore rich game, when you can actually enjoy it.
Something may be worse later, but it’s still worth the money to a degree.

Now if only Blizzard enjoyed crafting the in game lore…
And put it all there.
Books in RL should be duplicated and put into the game.
Would make the finding and hopefully collecting them all for Player Housing that’s actually worth players’ time and sticking them into a library inside a room worth it!
