This Timewalking event is great but sure would be way more exciting if every dungeon of the expansion was in the pool… but there’s only 5 in every rotation, why?
I did some math, and only 36 of 70 dungeons (51%) are available as Timewalking. It’s far worse for Raids, with only 3 of 27 raids (11%) available during Timewalking.
I think it would be a MASSIVE win for Blizzard to add more dungeons & raids to the TW events. What would you like to see?
Here are some of my missing favorites:
- TBC: Auchenai Crypts, Sethekk Halls, Shadow Labs
- WotLK: Culling of Strathholme, Halls of Reflection, Draktharon Keep, Ahn’kahet the Old Kingdom
- Cata: Deadmines, Shadowfang Keep, Zul’Aman & Zul’Gurub, Well of Eternity
- MoP: All 6 dungeons are in TW
- WoD: All dungeons except Iron Docks & Upper Blackrock Spire are in TW
- Legion: Arcway, Maw of Souls
As for Raids, I would love to see many more added… Sunwell Plateau, Naxxaramas, Icecrown Citadel, Bastion of Twilight, Dragon Soul, Throne of Thunder, Blackrock Foundry, Hellfire Citadel, The Nighthold, Tomb of Sargeras, Antorus… the more the merrier! I love legacy content.
I know not all legacy dungeons will make for good TW revisits, some will be too long, too short, too much RP, too complicated… but there’s still a couple dozen that would be awesome additions.

How about instead they make the dungeons challenging and then the 5 would feel rewarding instead of just faceroll like they are now.
Wasn’t ZG a 10-man dungeon? I can’t remember if ZA was as well. Not everything has to be reworked to fit the current model. Some things should remain as they were designed.

They were revamped as 5 man dungeons in Cata

Well, the only challenging dungeon content is M+ and we are starting to get those updated for new seasons.
Timewalking is supposed to be easy, since it’s only real purpose is weekly quest for gear and leveling alts.
Because certain older dungeons are very badly designed and take too long.
So 36 of 71 dungeons are currently available as TW.
You are definitely correct that some of them would not be fun to revisit and don’t make sense for TW for either being too short, too long, too complicated, or too much RP.
But there are still a couple dozen of serious banger dungeons that would be awesome to have!
ZG and ZA were converted from raids to 5 man heroic only dungeons during Cata.

The topic you’re proposing is the exact reason why it’s so bland to do. I would love to see this idea capitalized on.
I think more people would engage with timewalking raids if there were an LFR for it.

How about make relevant non-timewalking content instead of… any of that?
I’d rather /pet 5 Iskaars a minute for an hour in Iskaara than do content I was already tired of doing ten years ago 5 times for a cloak I don’t want.

Such a great point! The Raids definitely need to be in LFR. They are tuned to be SO easy.
We full cleared Ulduar in <an hour. We were killing bosses in 10-30 seconds. Steam roll, but really fun! And a great way to gear alts.

The content being so simple and easy is WHY it should be in LFR.
WoW has nearly 20 years of content that’s sitting stale because only current content matters. They could have so much variety if they made older content matter at all.

Totally cool. I’ve played for 17 years too and understand why players don’t want to revisit old content.
Some of us love it though and like replaying it on alts.
Others are newer to WoW and have likely never seen the content at all!

No. If you want challenging 5 mans, do m+. The timewalking dungeons are a great way to chill and level alts while having a good nostalgia trip.

ilevel 402 reward for timewalking this week is generous. I hope they provide new mounts for sale from timewalking vendor. As for the content, we have done this gazillion times during its time. We dont want to come back and redo the grind all over again.
Convert it as M+ like what theyre doing right now. But CoS is still a bad choice as there are tons of better dungeons out there. Why not Vault of the Wardens?

No, it still requires some amount of coordination on the normal level. LFR would die to everything cause “afk auto attack loot pls”.
