Why on Earth are you only buffng fire in PvE?

The buffs are so small anyways… Heaven forbid fireball does any damage!

We still have people who PvP in this game.

Mage doesnt need any buffs in pvp

Arcane???

Arcane definitely needs some.

Shame when comments like yours are made. Probably because you’ve seen a FIRE mage deal damage in a burst window, suddenly that means that Frost and Arcane do not need buffs – which they do.

The same person posts this exact same line in almost every Mage thread. Just flag it, ignore and move on.

Only melee specs are supposed to actually do damage in PvP amirite?

Arcane needs PVP buffs what are you talking about

This thread isn’t about arcane mages. Obviously arcane mages are abysmal, but if they’re going to take the time and energy to buff a spec, make it impactful for PvE and PvP!

Look at what i am replying to, the guy said mage doesnt need a buff. I am just calling him out for being a toxic.

But i agree personally i think fire is a trash spec all burst with nothing else outside of it. It might be OP but i personally find that playstyle terrible

Check their post history and you’ll be surprised by what you see.

I mean an 8% ST buff isn’t necessarily small, but it’s a necessity so I mean take it for what it is, lol

I agree, they should have buffed all fire spells outside of combustion.

Fireball damage increased by 20% while combustion is inactive.
Fireblast etc….

Kind of boring kiting people in between combustion CDs.

If the damage for fire mages is lacking in PVE, then it’s lacking in pvp too.

The problem is people can’t survive a 12 second combustion so they think Fire is OP and everyone is complaining about it. When outside of that 12 seconds we can’t do crap except spam sheeps.

It kind of seems like that’s blizzard’s logic. I used to love playing casters in PvP, but after round and round of melee getting more tools to stay on casters, it just got old. Top that with casted spells doing less and less damage, well it killed my love of casters in PvP.

I think the worst part is that the tier set and 2nd legendary are borderline useless in PvP.

  • Fire doesn’t need a longer or faster [Combustion] to kill someone.

  • Arcane still has a myriad of problems that the set does very little in solving.

  • Not only can Frost’s set miss the target entirely (like seriously Blizzard, fix that crap), but it’s delayed random activation can possibly even break CC.

The only covenant legendary that I can see being useful in PvP is Death’s Fathom for Frost.

So while many other classes get a significant buff to their capabilities with the addition of both their tier sets and a second legendary, we get very little.

It’s sad to say but I truly believe the tier sets were meant only for PvE and PvP was just an afterthought.

I remember back in like 2009 in pvp, I could full blown kite a warrior on a BG and he would never catch me. If a mage was bad, and the warrior did catch him, he was sure to die. True glass cannon. This aspect of the game is gone. Try kiting a DH, they are immune to frost nova, immune to ring of frost, frostbolt slows them, but you can’t get a cast off without them being on top of you.

Don’t even get me started with warrior leaps, whirlwind immune system, and spell reflects.

I liked the kite them, if they catch you your dead. You can’t truly kite anything anymore.

Or double shimmer against a rogue and he reappears back on top of you. Why do we even have a blink spell.

I agree. Sadly I don’t know if blizzard can have a way forward with nerfing melee mobility, at least without the world breaking. Wish there was a clear cut solution.

that fireball buff would of been good on fire, I must be playing it wrong but fire outside of arena just feels bad, like in battlegrounds its just terrible compared to frost

You are correct.

We should ask Blizzard to buff our melee damage when we swing our dagger, sword or staff at someone!
