Why Ogres and not Mok'nathal should be an Allied race

Ok, this need to be addressed separately, people are TOO MUCH over hyped for just a new model- the Rexxar model - and are bombarding blizzard asking for “Moknathal” allied race just for asking and not even caring about the whole thing anyway.

Sounds just like a teenage passion who will die in a few weeks, so we need put the things on the balance, so blizzard can see it and don’t make a terrible mistake adding a half-race by the full price, who will not cover the ogre fantasy or ogre fans at all.

The reasons will be BOTH lore and gameplay, so, choosing just one and attacking with all your strength to deconstruct the argument will not do much (like im pretty sure people will do about the population problems, who are still valid.)

In the first time Rexxar brought the OGRES to the horde to fight against the kul’tirs fleet and the army of Proudmoore, would be poetic to do it gain, not the half-ogres

1 - NPCs models ARE NOT the same models we get for allied races, remember the Nightborne? yes, model different from the npcs and let people with a felling of disappointment

So, no matter what, the moknathal model will not be copy paste of the Rexxar model that people are over hyping, and you will be disappointed

2- The Rexxar model is also, what a ogre would look like with a better model, so, the OGRE allied race would look like him anyway, there is no logic in thinking that will be just exclusive for the half-ogres

3- The kul’tirans model/rig, is used for the Rexxar model, and can be totally used for the normal ogres, the kul’tirans even have the belly.

4- The mok’nathal clan is a small and nearly defunct clan, made of ogres, orcs AND half-breeds, the moknathal are too few in numbers, and they only have a small village in Blade’s Edge Mountains

5- the Mok’nathal have NOTHING to do with our world. Thats a fact, the war who rage in Azeroth is not Mok’nathal problem neither they would want to be, they already have their own problems in blade’s edge mountains, why they would leave to fight other people war just because Rexxar said so?

This is a different scenario from the Maghar orcs, who had a debt with the horde from freeing then from the Legion, and they were being hunting down by the Draenei.

6- Why go far away to outland to recruit a nearly defunct clan, who have nothing to do with Azeroth when you can recruit ogre clans in or own borders who will be way more useful?

7- The Maghar orcs brought ogres from Draenor already, why someone would go there again - when the key to go there is lost - trying to find the moknathal in AU Draenor and not just use the ogres?

8- The mok’nathal already refused to join the horde in a first time, ogres however are more open to join

9- Mok’nathal is more likely a peaceful clan, attuned with the nature and would not want to join an army like the horde, they like the wilds, Rexxar is just an exception, unlike Ogres who already are Horde

10 - Mok’nathal do not cover the ogre race fantasy, Mok’nathal is just an orc clan who happen to have half-breeds, they are most hunters and warriors, who do not fit the ogre magic and barbarian race, they do not have some ogre characteristics like horns, one or two eyes/heads, whoever, ogres can cover the Mok’nathal fantasy pretty well.

11- Their classes would be lame, they are not magic casters, unlike ogres who are powerful wizards and warlocks

12- Mok’nathal do not have a unique theme, identity or fantasy, they are just like a generic orchish hunter clan, and this is already covered by clans like the thunderlord and frostwolves, Ogres however do have their own identity and theme with the gorian empire or the stonemaul clan.

13- Ogres are waiting in the line for more than 10 years, Just a hype for a new model should not shift then away when this allied race system is their best chance.

14- Keeping in mind Blizzard will only do one of then, because of costs, time and etc, they will do trying to cover all our necessities, half ogres would not do that, but Ogres will, its easy to be an ogre and pretend to be a half-breeds ( like people who do RP already do with normal orcs) than a half-ogre pretending to be an ogre.

15- Again, why sylvanas would send you to recruit a defunct clan that she may not even know who exist? why Rexxar would go for his father and make him join the horde and fight this war when he can take his rightful title of leader of the stonemaul clan and rally the ogres against the alliance once more?

What is more logic? what is more practical? Ogres of course

Neither one should be an Allied Race. If added, they should be full races with starting zones and stuff.

I’m so done with Allied Races. I don’t want any more of this bs from them.

I’m fine with Ogres eventually. But immediately I would prefer other races.
Orcs come from ogres. Ya know… half ogre is basically just a mix between ogre and orc.

Orc’s already have a yellow skin, although I wouldn’t be opposed to mok’nathal if it was a customization of original orcs.

Allied race come to substitute the normal race system

because they are a mix is what made then a bad option, like i said, they would just be another orc clan.

And if they do the half-breeds, they will not do ogres because they will think its not needed, cause the half-breeds already cover their fantasy, when they do not

Agreed,

It seems like all they (Blizzard) want us to do is go level another character, spending time doing the same content we have done so many times over the years.

I mean how many different ways are there to level now days if most of the players have one of each class to lvl 100+.

IMO, the reason they create a new Allied Race is it is easier to do that than create a whole new class with new abilities and spells.

the mo’nathal aren’t a defunct clan. they owe everything to Thrall’s grandpa Garad for freeing them from chains. Thrall’s uncle Ga’nar gave his life so that the Leoroxx and the Mok’Nathal could be free. Orcish blood is on Leoroxx’s conscience. Leoroxx has vastly outlived his old friend Garad and his story isn’t finished. Like many fathers who pass away in WoW, ushering in a new era, so too will Leoroxx pass away, leading to a cultural shift. Rexxar, their chieftain to be, is a venerable Horde hero. On Outland, the Mok’Nathal’s days are numbered. The youth will follow Rexxar.

As for Ogres… you are completely correct in that Stonemaul ogres have been in the Horde since the beginning ad their numbers are probably bigger. They have more lore as well, including their conquest through Dire Maul during Cataclysm which would make a great capitol for them. I want them badly too, however both cases are convincing. I would rather see Mo’Nathal as an allied race, and see ogres and vrykul given their own dedicated expansion. The KT model is a half-giant model not a giant model. Ogres and Vryul are still on the horizon in my eyes.

Except we got a whole new class last expansion. We weren’t going to get another one this time around.

Well, to be fair, I have multiple of the same class and tons of alts. But I think it would be fun if we had something like Instant Adventures that Rift has as another way to level. Or small 1-3 player versions of old raids that you run as leveling content in certain level brackets.

Yes they are, you can just see the state of their clan in blade’s edge mountains

This is a old tale, who nobody even cares about anymore, if this rly was a thing the moknathal would join the horde with the frostwolves before, and they didn’t,.

Thats rly a lore who would not do any good in replacement of the ogre race, “cultural shift”? rly? if leoroxx die, they would just chose another one and continue to live in peace, not drag themselves in a war.

they didn’t in TBC, they didn’t in cata, they didn’t in WoD, the chances are almost zero now, its better to have an allied race than nothing

And again, cause look like im talking to the wind, there will be no full races anymore allied race system come to replace the old one.

bro you talk like your ideas are confirmed, which means you won’t get much out of this thread. You have no idea what will happen. They brought back Illidan they can bring back anyone. The mok’nathal were weak back in BC, over a decade ago, but we slayed all of their enemies (ethereal, netherdrakes, arrakoa, ogres) so they’ve had time to grow.

The tale of Leoroxx may be old but he’s still alive meaning there is unfinished business. The Mok’Nathal owe the orcs BLOOD. This entire story arc is where we got BLOOD and THUNDER from. It’s an important part of the story.

Rexxar is the chieftain’s son and next to lead. Mok’nathals are one blizzard a$$ pull away from swarming orgrimmar and there’s nothing you can say to refute that. We are allowed to want both x.x. The Mok’Nathal are living in fear and isolation as opposed to courage and loyalty. Their arc is not finished boi.

Are kultirans vrykul? no. therefore that skeleton is a half giant model not a giant model in my opinion.

Well, we need something to keep us interested. How about something like this:

IF anyone played EQ, back in the day (Not sure nowadays) they used to have what they called AA ( Alternate Advancement).

A brief description of what is AA:

  • AA stands for Alternate Advancement. In other words, it’s an alternative way to advance your character further. AA’s can increase your stats, Give you a Free mount, Give you a chance to crit, give your spells a chance to crit and a ton more. There are around 10000 AA’s that you’re able to acquire and generally, each expansion adds a lot more for players too.

Thoughts??

So much this. Give us ogres. Give us their starting area and story. I have wanted ogres forever in WoW.

I’m sick of allied races. I want races with starting zones again.

What ticks me off to no end is the fact that they specifically said they created Allied Races as reskins of existing skeletons so that they could put more of them out at a faster pace… and yet here we sit, still waiting on one we should’ve had a while ago-- because the other was a last minute thought THAT’S BEING CREATED FROM SCRATCH.

While I don’t understand it completely, I don’t see how it could be a bad thing.

What I’d like to see is a complete revamp of the talent system into something similar as Old Republic’s, then maybe add more to the game like what you and I both mentioned.

I’ll look up that system a bit more in depth to get a better idea. :slightly_smiling_face:

hence why it is clear that the KT model will be re-used. There’s no way Blizzard -isn’t- going to reuse it again. So yeah, ogres or half ogres soft confirmed… probably half-ogres even though they aren’t my first choice. they just seem like the cheapest, most efficient and profitable option given the circumstances.

Horde has enough ugly. We dont need another race whose sole motivation is being fed.

The Horde, if anything, has lost its identity. Half of Org’s population is Blood Elves and Nightborn, the banks are run by Goblins, orcs are practicing proper posture,a nd we are taking orders from a dead elf woman… let’s just say it’s time more than ever for the Horde to get ogres or an ogre variant. I made this lore video on Mok’Nathals for anyone who isn’t aware of their backstory. Without Rexxar, the Horde would have never solidified their foothold on Kalimdor, so the lore is heavy. Blizz just hasn’t had the right opportunity.

it is confirmed that the clan is nearly defunct, until they retcon that, that is canon lore.

nd knowing how many people dislike the Illidan arc in Legion is tht much wise to do it again, and there is a big difference between a demon and a clan

Not ten years ingame

Then where are they when the horde goes trough the dark portal? only Rexxar defy Leoroxx who CHOSE not to go with the horde.

Thats not how clans work, the son just have priority if he shows he cn lead, Rexxar passed more time with the stonemaul and the horde than his clan.

We are allowed to want don’t mean we will get

they re much finished and totally irrelevant to zeroth and to the expansion as a whole

Vrykuls are half-giants

Horde will never have enough ugly, if you want a pretty faction the alliance is waiting for you

Yes, and its not half-breeds who will bring it back, Ogres will do it, it was the ogres who joined the first horde and travel to azeroth, was the ogres who help to defend the horde against the alliance tyrants, the ogres who ally themselves with the iron horde and the maghar orcs, and was the ogres who came to zeroth with then.

if was not by rexxar to BRING OGRES to the horde, and not the half-breeds, the horde would never set a foothold on kalimdor indeed, and they would perish to Daelin Proudmoore

Not the half-breeds, like i said, they have nothing to do with our world, with our war, and would not want to participate on this bloodshed, you would know that, and would be way more practical, and made way more sense to just recruit ogres

I made an even longer vid on ogres dude, trust me I am on your side. I want proper ogres… especially since they should be able to be DKs. You are right, they are the more lore-friendly choice. We will come back to this thread when Blizzard makes their announcement.

Here’s my ogre vid. A few months back I was already talking about the Stonemauls and how they should be taking Dire Maul as their capitol with the Nightborn and turning it into the Horde Dalaran w/ the Sunreavers. The Alliance could contest from Feathermoon Fortress in a Feralas Warfront… I also know Blizzard though and they love to do @$$ pulls and Mok’Nathal seems like the next @$$ pull to me.
